Merc eq autosave

Post by Otar »

The wiki says that the eq is saved whenever it's changed. This is not true.

A: Please fix this

B: If you order a merc to save is the eq actually saved?

A: What is your proof? They _should_ save.

B: They _should_.

I put together awesome merc eq. The mud crashed. the wiki said that I should be able to go to "A Murky Marketplace" type 'retrieve' and get the eq back. I went to "A Murky Marketplace" typed 'retrieve' and got 'You have no belongings stored.'

Did you hire another merc before you retrieved?

I've done that before but that wasn't the case this time. Straight back to merc's and typed retrieve, nadda.

Is there any chance of eq return? Or does the no merc eq return policy have no exceptions?

As far as I can see saving does work, and it does happen when you remove, wear, or give eq to the merc.

One more question though. Did you receive a message that said "You cannot retrieve any belongings at this time"? Or "You have no belongings stored"?

I know Otar was the second, Tiberius?

Also Otar mentions the MUD crashed, but if you mistook a reboot for a crash you will not receive any eq backt because they do not save for reboots.

I got 'you have no belongings stored', i'm sure mine was a crash, there were no warnings but i suppose it could have been an imm reboot?

I guess I will sit around with a merc and see if it crashes.

Reboot wasn't going to happen for another 500 minutes or so, also I asked Fogel if it was a crash and he said yes.
