New Discoveries

Post by Avaine »

Trysstianna watched in frustration as the group of novices she was teaching gossiped among themselves. How had she lost their attention so quickly? And what in the Light made those three Brown Aes Sedai run through the halls? She raised a hand to her head, lightly massaging her temple. Her headache wasn't helping either. If only these novices would be quiet. Without even realizing it, Trysstianna embraced the source, enjoying the sweetness that filled her up, even though it made the squeaky voices of the novices all the more annoying.

Ugh, be quiet! She thought, trying to sort out why everything was in such an uproar today. If only she didn't spend so much time in the Libraries. Suddenly, the noise stopped. She opened her eyes, scanning the horrified faces of the novices. Around each one of them Trysstianna had weaved a gag of Air and Spirit, preventing them from gabbing any more. The only thing was, she didn't remember anyone ever teaching her this weave. Releasing the flows, she stood up and left the room to share her discovery.

Evilina stalked through the pitch black hallway, her cloak not moving even though her pace was brisk. She could sense Blark waiting for her a bit father up the hallway.

"Report." Her word came out like a hiss as she reached Blark.

"I've been experimenting on the raiding party you captured, and I've made some discoveries that could be useful." He said while leading Evilina down another, smaller hallway.

The pair entered a large room, where three soldiers were strapped to individual tables, their bodies badly bruised and marred. Blark frowned to himself. Evilina knew he preferred more...subtle ways of torture. Walking to the nearest captive, Blark took the man's head in his hands, and wove a large net of Air, Spirit, and Fire before resting it over his test subject. The man instantly arched up into the air, trying to break his bonds. Evilina watched carefully as the man started mumbling to himself, before bursting into cackles.

"There's more," Blark stated, walking to the next test subject. "Much more."

Evilina almost smiled.

Jaina ran through the forest, trying to keep track of the man in black far ahead of her. She muttered to herself, sure that her plan had no flaws. Well, it didn't, until that blubbering lord burst in the room, distracting her for that one second. And now she was running through a cluster of woods, her skirts ripping on twigs and thorns. The woods suddenly cleared into a hallow, and Jaina filled herself to the brim with the power. She stepped out into the clearing, scanning the line of tree, and then she felt the whip like snap across her back.

She fell forward onto the ground, turning to look behind her, her eyes widening at the fireball that was racing towards her. Was it over so quickly? All because of that stupid fool of a lord? No . She wouldn't let it end like this. It couldn't.

Drinking in more of the power, Jaina lashed out with a thread of Spirit, the sharpest she could manage, and cut it through the fireball, which disappeared from existance a mere moments before reaching Jaina. The dreadguard stood, stunned that his weave had dissipated. Taking no chances, Jaina pointed at him, and he became a pillar of fire, leaving only ash behind.

"Well, that was a useful discovery," Jaina said to herself as she left the forest. "Very useful indeed."

Far in the distance from Fal Dara, a Gate opened, and two members of the Black Tower stepped out into the chilled air. The made their way silently away from the city, however, into Tarwin's Gap. Half way to their destination, they were accosted by a small group of trollocs. One of them seized the torrent of Saidin and created a sword of Fire, protecting his friend's flank. A trolloc rushed towards the Dedicated, who simply reached out with his hand, and clenched his fist while sending tendrils of Spirit and Fire into the trolloc, who collapsed to the ground. Enraged with blood lust, it crawled towards him, eager for a kill, but the Dedicated took out his knife, and stabbed it into the trollocs head, ending it's miserable life.

"All too easy." He said, while smiling to himself.

"Aye," His companion said. "That weave practically cripples the beasts to uselessness."

Froiisa walked quickly through the halls of the Fal Dara keep, eager to continue on her mission. She had an important task for the Red Ajah, and she worried the time she wasted here would make the crucial information she had for them obsolete. She quickly found the door, however, and entered without knocking.

The infirmary was filled with groaning soldiers, wounded from skirmishes with trollocs. But that was not what she was here for. The man she needed to see was in the corner, away from the rest. She headed over, waving the medics back. The man was murmering to himself, almost like he was having a conversation.

"We found him out in the Blight like this. The rest of his force was decimated, with their flesh rotting off." The man shivered remembering the sight.

Froiisa put him out of her mind, and focused on the man in front of her. She cupped his face, and began to weave a net for Healing, but then she stopped. Something felt...off. This man was affected by the One Power, but she couldn't tell how. She weaved Air, Spirit, and Water in the man, searching for what ailed him, and suddenly it was all clear to her. She knew every place where this man ached, and even that he was a bit hungry.

"Get me a stool." She ordered to the person nearest her. It would probably take her hours to undo the weave that turned this man insane. But she would do it.

New weaves are in, but it's up to you all to figure them all out for now. There will be a thread made to report any issues/inconsistencies with these weaves, as well as a place for complaining/praise. A big thank you goes out to Fogel for taking the time to code all these great new changed in.
