Suggestion to increase numbers/pk

summer is over and numbers are dropping like flies..perhaps we could do something about this?

How about a designated time every day, lets say 6-8 pm EST where playerkills are worth double WPS. This would maybe encourage people to congregate at that time and we would actually have some pk. It could also make the legends list more interesting, encouraging people to pk and take risks for the slightly bigger (if useless) rewards of WPS. The times could be discussed by the active player base to see what would best suit them.

Anyway...discuss!

Not a bad idea I guess. I would suggest two times for our opposite time zone people.

Id rather see a qp bonus rather than wps, people shouldnt earn extra wps because of the hours they play.

Bad argument! If anything, it should be that you shouldn't get extra qps because of the hours you play. Wps are ultimately meaningless. Qps, not so much.

yes I agree with lamgwin, thats why I suggested WPS not QPS. I dont really understand ur logic evilina. Anyway...this isnt an argument thread, we need positive ideas here if we want to keep this mud alive past the summer

How about special eq loads on random smobs

I do like the idea of wps, because, after all, they are meaningless and yet people are still motivated by them. It's the best way for people to get something they want, while not benefiting those who play the mud at certain hours in a way that makes them more powerful(master bonuses).

I'll look into doing something like this. Maybe increased Weave Points and some sort of fun addition to smobs.

How is smobbing going to help? I like the idea but then its just going to be people smobbing for eq.. which they dont even use

Anything that gets people on and out into the world is a good start. If one side is out smobbing this provides the opportunity for the other side to try to interfere, thus creating PK. It's also entirely possible that instead of always changing smob loads we could do the occasional mob raid or some other fun event...

Heres a suggestion. Dont gate on the only person on opposing race and spam them in a door. FN.

And whoever Jekek is should be zapped for switching to find pk.

Hey! Summer aint over till Im dead and forgotten :D

*comfs* praga, yeah really that was some wierd thing that happened there, it was a missgate.

Anyway back to the subject, bonus qps and wps? could also start loading rares on smobs or do mob raids that load something cool.

A smob with this load is in the game until someone kills it or the MUD reboots:

a giant Seanchan berserker is using:
<worn around neck> a shimmering pendant of heartstone
<worn on head> a gold-plated silver full helm
<worn about body> a stiff black jacket, fitted with gold-buckled chest straps
<worn on body> a Sharan-emblazoned cuirass
<worn on shoulders> a set of spaulders branded with a sleek fox
<worn on arms> a pair of flexed obsidian vambraces
<worn about waist> a tough section of dried boarhide
<worn around wrist> a spiraled bracelet of cuendillar
<worn on finger> a bright red heartstone ring
<wielded with two hands> a giant steel-bound club
<worn on legs> a pair of strange green metallic greaves
<worn on feet> a pair of steel-bound combat boots
