War Rages On

Sitting at the small, oak desk, Ahviran Hawthorn, Accepted of the Tower, read slowly. The letter before her was given out to ever Accepted that evening. Her eyes scanned each line, trying to allow herself to believe what she read:

War is upon us, Daughters. It is time that you use everything the Tower has taught you. The Dark One is slowly being released from his prison, and War is upon the land.

We are servants of the Light, we will gather our forces and resist the might of the Dark--the Light must win!

The Green Ajah has already dispatched numerous sisters to the Borderlands, and more Aes Sedai will set up camp in the North. Due to the impeding threat of War, I, the Amyrlin Seat, have taken full control of the Hall of Sitters.

I have sent these imperative letters to each Accepted; it is now your task to help the remaining Aes Sedai defend Tar Valon. The Novices will not be called on, inless we are in dire need of them--and that may just occur.

Stand ready, Daughters, the time to show our strength to the world has arrived. We will stand against the Shadow, we will be strong, and we will win!

Tarmon Gaidon is approaching fast, be ready, Accepted.

Folding the letter into a small square, Ahviran tucked it into a pouch at her side. She embraced the source and added several flows of fire to the stone hearth, igniting a fire to keep her warm.

It will take more than just the White Tower to dissolve the threat of the Dark One. Her mind didnt let her release the source, she was frightened, and she knew she would have to fight.

Within several days, Ahviran would finally receive the shawl she had worked so hard to gain, only to turn around and fight the Last Battle.

Plucking at the green hem on her sleeve, she knew she would choose the Green Ajah, the Tower needed Sisters ready for Tarmon Gaidon.

Sighing, she moved slowly to her bed, released the source and fell into a deep sleep...
