It matters to the abser fades who don't want to wield sucky claymores. :P

But who knows, maybe with the new eq coming in, we'll see a wide variety of weapon choices for the discriminating Myrddraal.

I agree with you completely....except for master weapons. i want to be able to name my weapon.

unless of course they have it like wotmud where i can restring it...
I generally shot you down cause you were consistantly posting false data as fact as if you knew what you were talking about when you didnt at all.(I didn't even play a wolf brother after reset) but contributed a lot of discussion and testing towards balancing them as well as features to make it possible to play a completely unknown wolfbrother(which it was). Bolles kicking some of your asses really didn't have that much to do with his "bonuses", he also died a hell of a lot more after reset.

Masters with mobs, from playing with them a lot on wotmud I would advise not being able to change the equipment on them or make them bash/kick/charge etc, it's one of the very restricting factors on mobs. A master fully equips a mob and basically a human can no longer beat them one on one at all.

They're fun as small tide turners but when it's a small player base it can easily ruin small numbers pk.

more thoughts to come when get a bit of time.

I agree with the bash/kick/charge, but you gotta make it know to flee at least. And I'm not sure if I agree with the not equiping a mob. I'd probably have to see it in certain situations here to determine that. If you gave the mob low hps i don't think I'd have a problem with it.

meh, just idled out of login and lost a big post I had.
slightly briefer version.

Damage on master weapons i strongly advise against unless you're going to code it out of multipliers(charge, stab, skewer etc), hell even attack means double damage bonus since you're attacking twice a round.

Master weapons could have them reforgable from regular weapons to a new name, gain +5 obs or parry or additional weight. So you could in theory get an obsidian with +5 obs, or just as easily a short dagger with +5obs. Could have them revert at reboots, I assume there will be regular reboots?

Fade/warder attack I actually agree with trin, should be only with 1handed weapons, or restrict it to under a certain weight.

Group fade could have it take half hps of all group, so no fading out get out of jail when low(losing half hps could kill you) and get disadvantaged if go straight into battle after fading in.

Porting is actually another one that could be good to apply the same to for playabiliy and balance.

maybe it could be , like you practice in certain ways so you get the bonus on all weapons, this way Rares/unqiues will be usefull and profitable for masters aswell

Hahaha. This mob leading talk reminds me about the time where I led a shadow stallion, equiped it with an obsid, and ordered it to stab Drogan (who at the time had SG chain)... it insta blicked him while engaged. Good times

Another idea popped into my head:

Perhaps to make fades rougher to play, and take work to achieve other than just qps, could be:

1. Get the required qps for fade.
2. Player is faded, yet, they lose all lvls down to 5-10, or 15, or some shitty level.
3. New fade can only lvl through pk kills, and only by leading groups(can't follow others).

Now that, would make fades something else, sure you'd have some low lvl fades runnning around for a while(qps are easy to get) but eventually we'd see lvl 30+ fades which are sick as hell. With the modifications.

Would make working for a fade alot harder, but I truly think this would be a great thing.

It wouldn't be like on wotmud, where the trolloc fades, and starts kicking massive ass, it would be trolloc fades, can kick ass(low lvl wise hehe) and works hard to then kick massive ass.

Naturally, fades would lose a lvl for every time they rip to a PC, thus it would make fades even harder to play :P

_______

Also, considering master bonuses again, I was thinking of maybe adding lvls above lvl 50(with new exp system, see how that works) so mayb e they could get lvl 55, or lvl 60, but only through pk kills( i like that idea)

Would give extra pracs, and possibly 10+ hps more, so overall kinda cool. Of course couldn't delvl below 50, b ut could dlvl when gaining lvls above 50.

Any opinions? I really like the fade idea :P I would love seeing *myrdraal* or htf you spell it. :P

first good idea i heard
just it would be terribly hard and you should give them better bonuses and make em start from lvl 5 :D

Dude that's exactly what I was thinking...maybe even keep fade's the same way they are now.

Just take away fear, and give them 1 prac for all sessions.

ANd then start em lvl 5, I mean, it'd be hard as fuck, but then they can say they worked for it :P

Imagine trying to lvl up at lvl 5ish around...only pkills...that'd be fuckin nuts.

Of course, they could still lead groups around, which they'd have to, but lsers could just stab them dead...I mean it's kinda brilliant I think. :P

Anyone else?

Not lvl 5, that's too rough. Minimum I'd say lvl 10 starting off for fade. Well actually, lvl 5 sounds good.

Max lvl 15. I mean, who would manage lvl 50? Sure they'd be a fade, but then you'd really give a character a chance to shine :) and...not shine. :P

Of course, this could apply to blademasters/fades/greymen/xxxx whatnot.

Also, this fills out more of an "rp sense". So the dark one takes Borgg the trolloc, burns his flesh out.

Takes his soul, sticks it in a newbie fade, and says "Borgg, you must prove your worth, otherwise, you will stay a wimpy fade forever..."

And then you hope the new fade can get lvl 30, and then can get lvl 50(looooong time, something to do as they don't need many more qps...mastering again is stupid imo :P)

So, it's pretty badass I think. Fills the rp, makes it harder, and it's not newbie trained. Anyone can get fade qps, jsut a matter of time. :P Not anyone could lvl up with that fade :)

That is without a doubt the stupidest idea I have ever heard.

A fade at that level would be unable to fight anybody solo, and would have to flee if even 1 channeler showed up.

Like most things i guess, would also be very open to abuse.

The point is to make it hard, lvl 15 fade I think would easily work.

How could it be abused Ligh? I'm interested in how it might be, as I'm sure anything can be.

Oh, and I think it'd be best if fade's lvled up with the current system, still takes 100+ pks to get near lvl 40, so that would take a while.

With the more difficult new system, it'd definately be impossible :P

If the point is to make it hard then make it hard to become a fade in the first place. If you started at level 15 then you could take an air scythe but 1 fireball would still kill you.

As for abuse, if your system was implemented I would just get my amigo to log on his human and I would kill that human a few times so that I wasn't terribly inconvienced by an idea as stupid as this.

cause it would be so ruff, you could make lvl 30 -50 be giving pracs and hp like lvl 5-30.

Then to solve the abuse, everytime you kill the same char you get 50% less exp from him. Of course with a small playerbase this would make it even ahrder

Shrug, I don't think lvl would be the problem. Sure lvl 15 would be hard as hell, but as you have told me time and time again Zarth when talking about channies---->don't get bashed. Well, now newbie fades just don't need to get bashed or scythed. :)

Yah, your completely right, I didn't see the abuse factor, thank you for pointing it out and being so sweet about it.

But I honestly don't think there could be a fix to that abuse, even 50%, well with new exp I don't think we'll be seeing tons of alts, but...maybe that'd work.

Bummer that abuse always pop up, glad it was seen now :)

Damn. :P

Even without abuse, that's a very bad idea.

So I just worked my ass off for a year+ to get those fade qps, and what do I get for it? A level 15 char with a little bit of bonuses that can get his ass handed to him by a single level 15 channeler, and that can't exp normally. Great.

And that raises another question. What happens if the fade gets hit lots by groups/channies/whatever and goes down to level 1? So it's "tough shit and better luck next time"?

The whole level thing is stupid, the idea of having to earn your specialised fade pracs in some way afterwards would be cool though.

I would love to see legends list be variable dependant on who has gained the most wps in the last week, rather than who has stayed alive the longest without dying at all. So you could be on fire and have a demon winning streak but wouldn't sit up there all the time without work.

Along those lines fades could need to win legends to get pracs each week, or if coded it to be continuous could get like 1 fade prac each day they remain at legend 1.

I don't know many people who could stay legend 1 for long on a non-stabber or channie and also be active.

I do however like the idea of making legend show players with skill, not the players who just don't die and play everything too safe. Those who take the risks to pull off good kills should be legend. Perhaps have legends equal to something like 50% is based on total wps, and another 50% is based on how active/how many kills in the past week or so.

Is fades/masters qps including legends? Smirk well that's cool :)

The idea insn't entirely stupid, you couldn't delvl past the lvl that is set(ie lvl 15)

Shrug, something along that lines, hell Axxey makes perfect sense with earning extra pracs or something, or skills even.

The thing is, it depends on the majority of legends, when it comes to most legends, I completely agree that alot of them play it very safe.

But, the even truer thing is, active legends do get more kills than everyone else(i hope) so they'd still be legend. :P

I can tell you a few legends right now who are absolutely nuts, and Nicotine is definately one of them, and I can say I am a much lesser nico(i never played as much as him, so never could compete in the wp gain/loss war :)) but I went from 700 wps to 100 wps in one day, and then gained legends back some time later when I became active again, only to be kicked off again and again :P

And I honestly, honestly, truly think, that a fade better be on legends. So sry, but abs legends is possible, it's just stabbers get majority of kills. I looked at my old logs, and borgg has 400 wps at some points(it's just i died too much, and wasn't even aware/pay attention to wps then).

The fade will have the one thing he needs to get on legends---->attack. He'll be doing more dmg than any person in the game besides a channeler while engaged. And I truly hope that fade knows how to pk very good, otherwise wtf is the point. Gristlyn was a poor example, even though we all love him to pieces, but even he got legends at one point. :P

Takes 1 year+ to get fade? Smirk. I think that's a bit far of a stretch, most definately with the 2 qps per scalp perhaps, but hopefully that better be changed this round, as I honestly think we aren't here to put THAT much time into it only to be let down again :) *WINK* galnor. *hint hint*

Why are we discussing fade, etc when the main deal right now is getting characters and possibly clanning them once the mud comes back up. We have like 6 months atleast before people get anywhere near master.

Chase, why not discuss it? Go be a dumbass somewhere else.

Why wait until we get the fade? And make the poor bastard lose bonuses and lose this, gain that, and lose this, over and over again, while the poor guy just wants to play without getting bitched at for overpoweredness?

Oddly enough, this is planning ahead, and, I never do that in life, so, I might as well do it now, give someone/mud a better idea on what possibilities might come.

Oh Galnor, scratch the entire lvling through pk thing, just don't even remember itl, it would'nt work, so please concentrate on all things posted before my post a few days ago. :P

if were talking abuse the clann system is just as easily abused, il just tell my friend ot die to me 20 times a day and il be master in notime, everything is abused...

There fore i am willing to sign my up as 'punisher' and im sure galnor will be willing to make me 105 so i can signicifantly deal with abusers!

I am perfect for the job because not only am i the most loved player known as "Zak" i also have a very deep friendship going with the head imm galnor.
I have never abused ANYTHING nor ever will.
I am truely the perfect choice for the 'punisher' position and i REALY wont use it for personaly advantage nor of the advanget of friends
