What if, during a stab timer, if someone engages on you, you can either let the stab timer run as normal, or type STAB (or whatever command) in the middle of the timer, and it will start a new timer that is a little like precise strike, but shorter and a little more damaging? You'd still have a chance to fail and everything, but it would give us something to do besides flee all over the place.

The main road continues to head east and west, right through the center of
Caemlyn. There are large crowds everywhere in the city, but to the east, there
are suprisingly even more people than on the main road west of here. You
notice a large palace north of here, and a road east of here that leads north
towards it.

HERE (OR ANY TIME DURING THIS TIMER and AFTER YOU ARE ENGAGED UPON) YOU COULD ENTER YOUR NEW "STAB" COMMAND AND HAVE A NEW TIMER THAT WOULD BE ABOUT THE LENGTH OF A BASH TIMER, and HAVE IT DO LESS DAMAGE THAN A STAB, BUT MORE DAMAGE THAN A FRAG.

OR We could make it so that when you let a timer go all the way through after they've engaged, and are still engaged at the end, have it be a % chance that you jump out of combat and try to prepare another one, automatically disengaging you. I just thought that up and actually like it better than my first suggestion
