A Thought About Quest Points

Post by Alder »

What does anyone think about receiving instant quest points after getting a killhit, and seperate quest points for the scalp?

Sounds cool if galnor has the time to imp it, if not I'd suggest just upping scalp qps to 6 and 10, I more than anyone dont need another qp in my lifetime but allowing players a chance to remort without having to farm questmobs for months and months seems like something that would be productive to the mud and increase the pbase.

edied for typos

Yeah, I'd say the kill qps would be around 10, and scalp qps around 5.

So potentially (depending on the QP amount allotted) you could get double the QP for one single kill? Pending you got the killing hit that is, on a 1v1 you would be guaranteed this almost all the time ├óÔé¼ÔÇ£ not taking into external factors of how else someone could die (mob rip etc. ) I kind-a like the idea of just upping scalp QPs like Evil suggested, or to make the killing hit QP something really low. I could just see someone entering into an end of a PK session just before the person is about to rip hoping that they would get the killing hit in order to get QPs ├óÔé¼ÔÇ£ but of course none of us are jerky enough to do that :)

Hoesntly qps really arent that hard to get. 5 per scalp is a ton already. Right before I had to go semi-inactive a month or two ago, I was pulling in atleast 75 qps a week. You dont have to farm qp mobs to master.

Besides letting everyone get easy qps and rank to master takes away half the fun. The whole point is working to that goal and eventually getting it. Just imo.

And I dont really like the whole killhit idea. Its a cool thought, but some characters (channies) are usually able to get killhit if they really want. No need to create tension between pkers on the same side if someone is lucky and gets killhit. And what happens when an unclanned gets the killhit and so the clanned char misses out?

how about making scalps worth 4 and 8 (even numbers) and adding the command split scalp, so the scalp can be divided into two pieces and each worth 2 or 4.

i vote leaving scalp qps at 5 and imping a few more quests like that of the horned trolloc. it really is easy to get qps if you take the time to play. becoming a master is something that should take a while with hard work involved.

I'm against adding more quest points from PK. As it is you can already gain quest points from turning in scalps, clan cloaks and master weapons, which is already potentially a pretty big gain.

More quests is a good idea. Not everyone is interested in PK, and it would be nice to offer a way for non-PKers to advance within a clan.

If you're in one of my clans (and a few others that I encouraged their clan imms to follow my lead), I offered to imp quests for them if they could get some activity in the clan going. I would love to imp more quests.. I had a very large collection of quests for the Ghob'hlin quite a bit ago that were based on rank etc...
