Am I missing something? I do not even say playable out of any of those. Ans I statted at least 10+ so far. Will keep editing this as I go.

That is business as usual Cannibal. Manual stating is horrendously difficult now and the rewards do not out weigh the potential never ending statting process.

I personally think that the chances of pulling anything lower than 13 for any stat should be slim to none, but still possible, and the chances of pulling anything higher than 17 should be rather small when random statting.

Keep in mind you CAN choose to pick your stats, so random statting should be rather hard.


Here's an example of what I think the rolls should be in general:


8 - 1%
9 - 2%
10 - 3%
11 - 4%
12 - 5%
13 - 10%
14 - 15%
15 - 17%
16 - 17%
17 - 13%
18 - 7%
19 - 5%
20 - 1%

Koradin's numbers are pretty good: under that system, you would have approximately a 1/57 chance of getting stats of 17+/17+/17+. I would say increase the frequency of 18/19 by 2/1% respectively and get rid of 8/9 rolls, a small but probably noticeable increase (raising the average stat from 14.89 to 15.18, and average chance for 17+/17+/17+ to about 1/41), and this distribution would work pretty well.

The payoff can be big though. I know of one player who took about a week to stat but got 19 19 20. I know another that took like 2 days to get a very nice rogue. Just stick in there.

i have been statting alot lately. I could say i have spent about 6 + hrs statting and i havent gotten anythin good yet. I have gotten some stats that would of been good except for their Con i think the main problem here is the Con. I acknowledge that stating randomly should be rather hard due to the fact we have a fixed statting system, but at the same time a person statting about 2-4 hrs should be able to get some decent stats.

If you want semi decent stats pick them, random statting is for the die hards that want the best and have the patience to go after them.

Took me over a week of statting 6+ hours a day to acquire a 19 13 13 19 20, but in the end the effort was well worth it.

Everyone is complaining about the averages of random statting, but random statting is not for average stats.
