Clan Policies

So following the recent posts of these into most of the clan boards etc...

I was wondering what players thoughts were on things like if someone has been decounciled or declanned by the staff for abusing things in the past should they then be black listed from being allowed to ever hold a council position? Would that then hold an appropriate incentive for people not to be douches?

Nope. Hell the majority of the players here have messed up before on this game. So they should automatically be barred from getting council aka changing their attitude?

But we could enforce it from now on, can't really retrospectively enforce new rules. That's like inventing rules just to screw people you don't like.

Clans aren't a dictatorship nor should they, players rely on a voting process so they can have some input and help create and guide the clan policies and directions and for good reason. Having policies and procedures dictated to you by an imm isn't fun at all, I remember on wot when tomasz took over the COL and basically took control from the players and dictated every single thing, we lost half the clan within a few months.

As I've already told Galnor I think the council flag needs to be altered because to most players it's simply a coveted status symbol or a means of exerting will by those with control issues. The council position should be invisible and the only commands it should grant are ranking and awarding.

I would actually like to see people from rank 6+ be able to issue warrants in all clans. Its a bit annoying when someone is blatantly doing something wrong and you can't do anything because no council is on and by the time one is on its all over.

LS is way different than DS, I can see the rank 6 idea working for LS, I don't understand why DS has a clan warranting system at all.

Yeah, well I was talking about LS... I think on DS you should make it probably so only the remorts can warrant people?

Also, I do feel that Council positions should still have some status within LS clans - it just makes sense. I don't think there's any limit on how many Council you can have either but I guess that depends on the clan. You could have 4-5 council if you wanted.

I just think not being able to warrant people is rather annoying on LS... You could make it so only Council can pardon though, its not a big deal.

what so everyone can throw random warrants around on anyone who rubs them up the wrong and presses all the wrong buttons? AND if they were just fucking around they wouldn't be able to remove it? therefore ruining gameplay for said person?!

Yeah no thanks. if you want the power of a councilman, earn it by making council.

Ummm... You sound exactly like the kind of person who would just warrant people for shits and giggles then and if you did that as someone who couldn't pardon obviously your council is going to find out and do it often enough and you'll be declanned.
