Since the mud has been doing hot reboots instead of the normal ones new players accounts aren't being transferred over to the forums.

If that is a problem then that is not the cause.

Fogel figured it out, changing your pw in game can cause the forums pw to not be hashed which is a good thing, that stuff is illegal.
