Global Event: Battle Arena!

There will be a global event happening Thursday, July 21 at 7:00pm EST to celebrate the grand opening of the Battle Arena.

SPREAD THE WORD. Depending on the number of people that get involved, we will be releasing some new / rare items and other prizes.

Level 1 characters will be raised to level 30 on this day so new players have a chance to join the action. (kinslayermud.org, port 2222)

There are about 10-12 characters that are statted(with pretty good stats). They are Female and Male characters of both races and all classes. These will be given away on a first come, first serve basis and all will be equipped and ready to go. IP checks will be requested to ensure that all players asking for these are truly new and have no alternatives.

These will be given away for the EVENT ONLY. Whoever receives these characters will be able to keep them to do with as they please, however each person will be allowed 1, and only 1 character.

Hopefully all of you are recruiting people for this event, and if you have any that you get let me know and i'll see about gearing them up.

A few items of business:

The Arena will be open starting at 7pm EST, but new players are welcome to come early to get a feel for the game before the event begins and to receive your 30 free levels.

The event will run until roughly 9:00pm EST, but the Arena will remain open and available to play in for the rest of the evening.

The prize pool is as follows:

a berserker's pendant
a figure of an armored soldier raising his sword to the heavens
a reflective onyx shield
a bear statuette
a bright green orb

If 10 or more players join the event, we'll add:

a hero's talisman from the Age of Legends

If 15 or more players join the event, we'll add:

an ancient shocklance

If 20 or more players join the event, we'll add:

a tainted black sword

Places will be determined by rank and total Arena score for each player at or around 9:00pm. The player in first place gets first pick from the prize pool, second place gets second pick, etc.

Interacting with the Arena:

Typing 'arena' at any time will show you different information about the Arena depending on your situation, as outlined below:

• Normally: You'll see your personal Arena stats, score, and rank.
  
  While In Queue: You'll see the current host, game, mode, and players currently in the queue as well as players needed to start the match.
  
  While Voting: You'll see how much more time you have to cast your vote, how many votes are left, and which games have votes currently.
  
  While Playing a Match: You'll see the current match's host, game type, goal, and statistics.

Use the 'arena' command freely and you'll start to understand how useful it is.

Other Arena-related commands:

• Enter Arena: This command will let you enter the queue for the Arena, where you'll wait until enough players have joined before starting a match. It will also let you re-enter the Arena if you die inside.
  
  Exit Arena: This command will allow you to exit the queue if you're currently waiting or exit the Arena if you're inside. (Caution: Exiting while playing a match is considered a "bail", is discouraged and will negatively affect your score - try to stay in the match until the end unless you have an emergency.)

Arena Host commands

If you are the first to enter the Arena, you will become the HOST and will be allowed more commands:

• Arena Options: Allows the host to set the match map and mode.
  
  Arena Start: Allows the host to start the voting process once the minimum amount of players in the queue has been met.

In Short:

Any player attempting to interact with the Arena will be reminded of each of these commands throughout the process, so don't worry about memorizing this post.

If in doubt, type ARENA and you'll be pointed in the right direction.
