choke

Post by Harry »

in its current form is pretty much an anti-fun skill. would love to see it maybe increase the chance of failing a weave, or something of that nature so i can still, you know, pk. instead of waiting for my horse to get moves and my choke to wear off.

learn how to play then....

instead of complaining, adapt.. the choke skill is perfectly fine the way it is...

choke skill is poor skill, you can say learn to play all you want, but the basic mechanism of how it works is just not appealing.

maybe not to you because it's hindering your skills to channel. but it's a way for nonchannelers to defend against sitting there getting weaved to death. the way it is now is fine imo, i still get kills, if your able to like me just practice pstrike for that happens, it only lasts 3 rounds or somthing like that so prac prstrike and strike em down then weave again.

there are already hard to channel rooms, i just don't think that taking away someones ability to do damage for a tic is a good idea in terms of fun.

choke doesn't last for a full tic. only about 4 rounds or so thats it. It has been downed since you last played.

i don't like the mechanism of it, 4 rounds is better than a tic, but 4 rounds of not being able to do anything is still not fun. i'd rather see it make the weaver be able to accidentally weave on anyone in the room on %.

Personally I like how it is. If it fails I usually will get a large weave in before the person flees. The other person also has to keep using choke and not his offensive capabilites. Plus I feel like I conserve sps because I never run out. :P

play a channeler against darkside, where several people use choke. not very many, if any?, people use it on ls.

i feel the same way as burton. the only thing i would change with choke is the damage it does... but even that i wouldn't care if it didn't get changed. you just have to adapt to pking around it harry, like i said, prac pstrike for those 3-4 rounds your choked for, or just flee and use a mob. 4 rounds really isn't that much.

didn't know you could use mobs when you're the offensive one.

choke makes it sort of possible for a non-channeler to PK competitively vs. a channeler, because channelers are able to unleash mass amounts of damage in a very short amount of time otherwise. try playing a non-channeler and eating three rends in a row and you'll see what i mean. i suggest doing as landor suggested and finding an alternative skill to use while choked. bows, projectiles, pstrike.

i play against ds too. choke isn't the problem. the problem is how trolloc thieves can fight ls and then escape so easily when they get low. im just waiting on fogel to play more and realize this. you guys have it wayy too easy. soon enough hopefully....

depends on where we are. most of the time if i get low and try to run and i'm FM or more southernly, i'm gonna die, cus my mvs are already middling from running around in pk, and your horse's are probably better since you flee and run around less. and then you can dismount, chase me down, frag the crap out of me. whereas if i'm FDish i have a better chance of getting safe - but that's only if my mvs are good or better. if they're draining or under and i have to run at crit i'm fucked basically every time unless someone comes to the rescue.
