This mud has maintained a relaxed roleplay atmosphere, one where there is not a rigid roleplay that all must submit to. However, there has been word that the White Tower is going to come out with a formal stance on male channelers. While the stance they come out with isn't known, it could be any number of things. There seems to me to be a fundamental problem that can possibly occur. That being that a person, or a few people, in a clan can control the fate of a whole class, and subject their personal view of roleplay on the whole mud. If the White Tower is to take a stance on male channelers that say they disapprove of them, that seems harmless enough. But of course the next easy step from there is banishment, and from there warranting, and then we've got a class on this game that has been relegated to being lame murderers. You see, the issue isn't roleplaying, or that people wish to roleplay, it's that I don't think we should take the step of letting one group of people force their roleplay views on everyone else.
The rigid, stale, boring, generic roleplay of wotmud, where some of us previously played is not one that's entertaining, or preferred. The system that they have is one where power is consolidated, giving a few people the ability to mold the whole mud. I feel that if the White Tower is able to come out with formal stances that are negative towards male channelers, then this is the first step in the direction of a rigid roleplay world. One that would allow for one clan to influence the mud to a degree that's not fair nor reasonable.
As so far as my own personal views on the roleplay that I should like to see the mud adopt, I think I would prefer a mud where the White Tower and Black tower don't hold animosity towards one another, and even allow bonding between the two groups. I feel that this allows for more interesting roleplay, and not the generic variety that is seen on other muds. Of course, we don't even have to follow the books in terms of roleplaying, but I would like to see this mud stay away from allowing the few controlling the many. This simply means, let people roleplay in the way they wish, but don't let them control the way other people -have- to roleplay.

Your an idiot, that is what the white tower's rp is, aswell as other things. male channelers are made to be on the exile that's why who ever plays them should try to stay unknown, that way you wont get warranted. and we have to stay to the books because that is what the game is....the White Tower is controlling how everyone has to roleplay just becaus they desagree with male channelers. they are ment to.. what your saying is like saying you shouldn't make trolloc mobs attack humans because that just exiles us from where ever they are.
and how do you expect the white tower and the black tower to be able to bond between the both? that's the stupidist idea ever.

I take it you haven't read the books. You'll find that the White Tower and Black Tower members -were- bonding each other.
Re: The mud, roleplay, and implications of consolidated powe
umm no, the black tower was bonding tower girls after they caught them and after the tower pretty much fell to pieces and it was like book 8 or 9....in game im pretty sure we are only upto like book 4?

Pretty sure we aren't on a book, and that's kind of my point. There's no reason to hold to the rigid wotmud version of roleplay...
