exping

Post by Evilina »

I have noticed exp is harder than hell now, could be part of the reason we don't have a pbase anymore.

Here's an excerpt of me trying to kill trees only worth 400k each, btw I have the heron and almost 200 ob.

HP:Scratched SHP:Full MV:Fresh - a rotting tree: Wounded>
% -
* Your bash at a rotting tree sends him sprawling!

HP:Scratched SHP:Full MV:Fresh - a rotting tree: Wounded>
You try to slash a rotting tree's body, but he parries the attack.

HP:Scratched SHP:Full MV:Fresh - a rotting tree: Wounded>
You slash a rotting tree's legs into bloody fragments!

HP:Scratched SHP:Full MV:Fresh - a rotting tree: Wounded>

They already seem stunned!

HP:Scratched SHP:Full MV:Fresh - a rotting tree: Wounded>
You slash a rotting tree's hands into bloody fragments!

You try to slash a rotting tree's legs, but he dodges the attack.

btw at what point does an imm say damn I thought it was a good idea but maybe I was wrong? The whole concept of making exp harder than hell to achieve within the last 6 months has been an EPIC FAIL.

The sooner this is realized the sooner we can encourage a pbase to come test out the mud that is supposed to be faster all around than wot.

Hmm it's not possbile to pk at anything below 50 effectivly beacuse you need all the hp's and pracs you can get versus ppl with top end kits and weapons, not to mention rank bonuses.

It should be easy to get lvl 50 even for a newb in a day or so, right now you have to have played for a bit to know where to go and what to do. Newb's don't always read the forums staright away.

Well, although I can appreciate the desire to exp more quickly I don't think its too time consuming. If you're going to use a sword, yeah, it takes longer, but only because you can charge or stab. With stab, a skill available from lvl 5 on a thief or 10 on a ranger, you can do all 45/40 lvls left in a heartbeat because stab landing % is high and doesn't take the player's level or short blade pracs into account.

Was that a typo? if not I am completely confused

Going by your first post, sword damage takes a given length of time to kill exp. I compared that to charge and stab because those skills click or severely wound exp on the first or second try consistently. By comparison, melee seems slow.

However, how is exp so hard if I can get 50 lvls in a single day's play session?

way back when I had no life, I wanted to see how long it took me to stat and exp to lvl 50. It took just over 2 hours *flex*

You only failed two hits. Theres something like 5% chance that a target will parry a hit no matter what. Looks like you were unlucky. This doesn't show anything but that 5%. :P

But yes, exp is rough!

its stupid, this is a pk mud not a roleplaying mud, people should be able to get max lvl with in a days worth of playing (5/6 hours is usual days play time i think)

You can. The only issue I see is there is a large disparity between the efficiency of levelling with charge or stab and levelling through melee. It'll be addressed eventually.

another disparity is the higher lvl exp mobs per sides, ls has hipos, rhinos, and coyotes which give a mil exp and die very fast while ds has mobs in niamh which give good exp but are harder to kill especially the enraged bears which break 300 def easily.

Have you noticed the number of dsers that go to ls lands to level up?

nm seems coyotes exp has been downed as well.
