Channies have a 50% malus at bashing, the change to str weave being not self castable ensures channies cant bash better than 1/100 per square cubic foot using the metric system.

So do channies get to bash 'at all' or it's been minimized in a way that it'll never happen? I for instance couldn't even sit a damane with 183ob with clay.

The real reason it can't be self cast is because it can't be self cast on WOTMUD. And we all know that the real reason the imms created this mud is to try and recreate their own version of wotmud, even though they've failed miserably at it.

It was changed so it wouldn't be self-cast because at one point channelers were basically rangers with less hps but with weaves. They bashed just as well if not better, due to str/sanc/agility, that playing dodge or combo bash was futile against them. May be slightly overkill now but I haven't tested it yet.

Removing self cast on strength was an effort to make bashing channelers less powerful. It ended up not being enough by itself, but I haven't had a chance yet to determine if it's no longer necessary after the other changes.

nah self castable str weave made channies OP if they went bash, but fogel did kinda go to far when he made it not self castable and then gave channies a 50% bash malus.
