Fal Dara
Fal Dara
What was the problem with the Ruined Fal Dara? Seemed to me a way better game feature for pk than the current one. Now Fal Dara is a veritable haven for humans where it's virtually impossible to die if the entire fight is fought there. Anyone else have an opinion on reinstating Ruined Fal Dara?
Fal Dara as compared to Gatekeep is either equal or slightly worse. I don't know what your point is?
Also, Ruined Fal Dara promoted horrible pk, I think perhaps you're suffering from nostalgia and it's affecting your memories of how nice of a pk area it was.
I wouldn't mind seeing a patty just outside Fal Dara, along with one just outside Gatekeep. This way if you need actual mob support that's more than two trees you can continue pk without having to go inside your city.

Well the main point is that pk does not happen in Gatekeep, so its strength is irrelevant. I would just like to see anything that keeps humans from constantly fighting inside Fal Dara. Fal Dara makes no sense as it relates to pk because Fal Moran is ten seconds away. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that fighting inside Fal Dara gets old quick. And now that I think about it, humans actually have a large amount of support outside of Fal Dara in moving patrols and stedding, which has a friendly smob. The only trolloc support anywhere near either of those is either Back Alley mobs (3-4?) and the group In the Woods; neither of which do much good after being whittled down inside Fal Dara.
The reason pk doesn't happen in gatekeep is that there was, up until Fogel re-added the jump exit, only one viable exit for humans.Viral wrote:Well the main point is that pk does not happen in Gatekeep, so its strength is irrelevant.
And those sets of trees and solo mobs don't do much of anything against more than one person.Viral wrote:I would just like to see anything that keeps humans from constantly fighting inside Fal Dara. I don't see how this is different than Gatekeep really. You've got trees everywhere, wandering trolloc mobs, and the Josua patty. While humans have that patty in a door, that's practically a deathtrap, and camp patty.Viral wrote: The only trolloc support anywhere near either of those is either Back Alley mobs (3-4?) and the group In the Woods; neither of which do much good after being whittled down inside Fal Dara.
I still see the easiest fix is to simply add a stationary patty both outside of Gatekeep and Fal Dara that's stronger than just two trees that allows people to continue to pk there instead of having to run into cities.
And remove Fal Moran!
So you are saying that there are no viable exits in FD for trollocs? I would prolly agree with that. One more reason pk there is stupid.
And the mobs around keep would work, if pk happened there.
Since PK happens in FD trolls need something to fall back to that has some resemblence of that level of defense.

You can leave through west or north gate, which has mob support in either direction. Humans can't leave through woodengate in gatekeep due to moves and having a bajillion choke points with no where to sit at mobs to gain moves.Angst wrote:So you are saying that there are no viable exits in FD for trollocs? One of the main reasons that humans have so rarely ventured north is that darkside has outnumbered lightside in terms of players. Another issue that separates the difficulty in hitting at gatekeep as opposed to fd is that there are many more trees at choke rooms in blight. Leaving the run from gk to gap hazardous as compared to the run from n gate fd to gap for trollocs.Angst wrote:And the mobs around keep would work, if pk happened there.

Gap patty for trollocs has more mobs than camp does for humans.
