new mining

Post by Syrik »

Good things:
Faster mining
Slightly better loads
less mvs cost
the axe thing

Bad thing:
Too many mobs come out, I got 5 in 25 minutes, and only 1 was one that loaded ores. Maybe this could be downed just a bit.

But the rest is great, thanks koradin :)

Also, put back xp while mining! That is half of the reason I mine. :)

Experience gains while mining has been added back in.

Mob loads have been tweaked a bit.

Please keep more feedback coming!

Thanks,

just a couple of things. the exp is good but it doesnt lvl you.
You need -831034 exp to reach your next level.

and you cnt do anything else while mining or it freezes it and wont do anything even if you leave the mine it wont stop and you cnt restart.

An Old Mine
This old tunnel looks as if it's been used countless times over the centuries
to dig up raw materials. Upon looking closer, you notice there are many
different types of ore to be found in the rocky walls...

A Short Entrance To A Mine
The cavern narrows into a small rocky tunnel here, which curves steeply south.
Rock walls look chipped away from centuries of digging. It's been said that
many different types of ore can be found in these walls...

A Wall in a Pitch Black Cavern
A pile of human skulls, set in a neet pile in the corner, gape with empty eye
sockets at whoever passes by. Rats scurry all around making shrill squeeking
sounds all the while. Bats over head screech their song into the darkness.

I'll look into that, probably a simple fix.

I'll post here when it's fixed.

Can you post more of that log from both the beginning and continuing on?

Nevermind, I found the issue and I'm pretty sure it's been corrected.

Let me know if it happens again.

The ores must be raw to make steel and bronze!

Recipe for bronze is 2 large copper, 1 aluminum, and 1 tin

Remember large ores weigh 4 lbs and small weigh 2 and the ores must be large.

Here are some things I noticed:

-The amount of coal you get is very little (that plus failing at smelting coal makes it really hard to get coal bricks)
-Selling ores takes a long time for each piece, especially since you've probably got lots of it to sell, reducing the time would be real nice
-That thief is the scum of the earth, make him flee a little less and don't make him hide
-The window for smithing things is too small. And the window for turning in a stub is even smaller. Please increase these. Maybe make both 8am-8pm?

Anyway, fun mining and stuff thanks.

ravnur, the idea is to make it hard. there are some very good weapons you can make from mining, and if it was easy, the weapons wouldnt be justified. smithing times and ore selling is fine as it is.

Having to turn a ticket in in a one irl minute window is not hard, it is annoying. In my opinion the work comes with mining.

When the smithing system is revamped, the crap timing issue will be fixed. Please be patient. :)

I do agree with the thieves, I have completely stopped mining after one ran all the way to gap with half my kit and I had to call in 2 other players to kill it.
