aggro speed

Post by Otar »

Seriously, mobs aggro way to fast. They should definitely not be able to aggro faster than i can spam in a direction.

I have noticed this as well, it has resulted in no less than 3 deaths in the last 24 hours :)

Silly mob raids

I agree, I've died like this too, and seen others complain of mobs agroing too quickly before.

Mobs aggro on average every seven seconds. Just sometimes you get unlucky and they aggro on the same pulse you moved.

I get aggroed far too fast, far too often. The floor should be increased by a pulse or two.

If its every seven seconds then that's per mob with each mob having their own timers, nico and I discussed this and agreed the mobs must each have their own timer.

Rolling Hills in the Borderlands
The forests dominate the Borderlands here, the woods thickly covering the
rolling hills this far north. The trees mainly consist of fir and taller
spruce, both effectively cutting off line of sight in most directions as well
as providing a soft, spongy bed of decaying needles to tread upon.

A Sparse Forest
In sharp contrast to the unending, interminable forests to the northwest, the
trees here become smaller in stature. The depth of the forest begins to lack
here, the trees few and far between. The only things that seem to be
increasing here are the slope of the ground and the inhospitality of the earth.

Between the Hills and Mountains
The soil seems to become even rockier further up the slopes. To the west,
small hills dotted with trees range out, surrounded by thick forests. The low
hills do not stand very high, but the sheer slopes seem difficult to traverse,
especially immediately to the west. To the east, the western face of a
mountain rises steeply, offering no way to travel. The lofty path continues
here between the hills and mountains, however, to the north and south.

Before the Niamh Passes
High within the foothills of the Mountains of Dhoom, the passage through the
mountains called the Niamh Passes is finally clearly discernable. The Niamh
Passes seem to offer a way through the eastern range of the Mountains of Dhoom,
but from here, all that can be clearly told is that the pass is quite narrow
and steep.

Ascending the Foothills of the Niamh Passes
Vegetation becomes increasingly sparse higher up within the foothills leading
to the Niamh Passes. Thin, scraggly, but tough roots and shrubs dot the
exposed, rocky slope. The precarious path continues further into the
mountains.

That log doesn't exactly help your case. You spam past one rattlesnake only to be hit by the other. In my opinion that's exactly what mobs are supposed to do, stop you from spamming your way to a safe spot.

I just ran through some lions and only twice did one insta-aggro me. Another one waited around 5 seconds before attacking. I don't see this being an issue.

Does Sneak or Hide affect aggro speed?

I think sneak or hide would affect whether you get agroed but not the agroe timer, but I could be wrong.

Hide helps. Sneak does not have any effect.

Isn't that a little counter-intuitive? If I sneak into the room and you don't see me, how are you going to attack me just as fast?

Because when you sneak into a room you aren't hidden from sight, you just entered the room without anyone noticing.

Mob actions occur on a regular cycle. They do not pay attention to when or how you entered a room. The only thing that matters is whether you are in the room and they can see you.
