Can something be done with the coding to make it so things in game have more range? Like, for instance, charge and stab. Have it so they have the power to blick but will more than likely do what they do the damage they do right now. Abilities have always, for the most part, have had a small range in which they attack for(even 50 hp difference is a small range). And that is why in this game having the best set is crucial and having an ok set is not working. If someone has a good bashing weapon they bash you 100% of the time if you're in a decent set(but not uber). if someone has an uber dodge set and you have a good weapon, even a good weapon like dark gleaming axe, there's no point fighting them because you can't bash them.
Same with stats back in the day of random statting. there wasn't enough range capabilites. if statting is imped i hope that it's pretty easy to get 17 17 17 and very very difficult to get better than that.
i forget what it's called but someone on Aeonian dreams had it in their coding for certain random stat enchants. it'd like roll a dice and on the sides would be like 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10. instead of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
I'd rather have dagger/spears/lances that could stab/skewer/charge for 150-400 damage with a better chance of it being lower than higher. (it wouldn't land the average of 150-400(275) it would be more like 200-250 with anything higher than that being a 'critical hit'). of course different weapons would have different ranges and stuff.
More Range in certain abilities
yes, that would be alot better.. I think you should be able to get 2 sorts of weapons.. For instance on wotmud stab damage is based on the damage roll of the dagger, if i remember correctly, a redstone was 2d9, meaing ither it could be 2 damage amplified by stab mupltiplier or 18 damage.. amplified which gives a nice range but quite a low average.. Or i think u should beable to choose from a second weapon also topend with OB/PB which would be something like, 3d5, giving you max 15 damage, but min 3, and the average is much higher... [/code]
