Mob raids versus statters/newbies

Why are they targetted during mob raids. I have just died at least 9 times after coing out of rent into a raid in Caemlyn. Mostly due to insta aggroing mobs and then trying to get my eq back. This has pissed me off greatly. A true newbie would not bother coming back. I just hope I can find my corpse which has the eq in it.

Its not a matter of targeting you... They are mobs like any other, but I agree this needs to be looked at.

There are going to be some new additions soon that will do a good job at ending the situation where newbies get destroyed by raids.
