Distractions

Post by Narg »

While thinking of what games and other distractions to make, I decided that you guys are probably the best source of ideas for what you want to play, so here is your chance to suggest games.

Keep em reasonable, but I'll consider most ideas.

An example of what I'm looking for is the gambler dice and 2 player dice games, not mob patties warring in the gap. Yes, we already know you want that. :)

well if we're sticking to the gambling theme, blackjack would rule

and it would be nice to have mobs that say hello when you enter room, and maybe give you a small quest randomly

what about that auction house you guys were talking about earlier?

also, making items sellable in shops would be very nice, even if they are sold for crazily low cash.

you could make a battle arena of a sorts, and have people go and spar there, winner gets something from the other person? or maybe some cash.

global quests are always fun, searching for a hidden artifact or something, bringing it to murash/agelmar, getting a reward. or like you could make three artifacts that were somehow connected, and if one side got them all they'd have to hold onto them for a certain period of time and then get a prize, but they'd have to stay on PC's, and if the PC's got killed then the other side could take them

Completely agree with nic- global quests are AWESOME.
But for times that there are low amounts of players on the mud (lol) it'd be great to have a bunch of NPC-controlled automatic quests, for gold, items, Narg's mom, et cetera...
I love the idea of an arena, too... used to play a MUD where all you had to do was type "pit" and you were zapped to a battle pit where you could have massive fights. that was good fun... imms would declare prizes for winners, and at the conclusion of the fight, players were returned with all eq and full hps back to where they'd come from.

I know we beat this idea senseless on the old MUD, but it's worth some thought... I recall Trin being a strong proponent...
(limited) customized items, player-made. pay a certain amount of gold and you get to mess around with stats, names, w/e. it's just something else to do when you're bored.

proponent? whatever that means yea i was it. to making eq, naming it, and global quests to do while bored. also human and troll only arenas(meaning if noone is on another race) could be cool too. so me and chase could wail it out and see who was better. than awards at the end. awards are good.
