The PK zones

Post by Vurek »

Considering the main pk zones for the main flow of pk that require players to run through these zones to even meet each other:

The zone north of Fal Dara:
1.4 man patty that tracks around 6-8 rooms and can't leave area.
2. Has 3-4 solo moving scouts.

E fd:
1. Bandit that aggroes all sides
2. Snakes that just chill
3. Logain that aggroes ds but is naked
4. Mobs with logain are naked too

SA the city and surrounding zone:
1. City mobs have 0 eq on them.
2. No LS friendly mobs in this zone
3. 1 set of ds trees, possibly in the NW fd zone :P

NW fd zone(deertrap)
1. Has wolves, but they didn't aggro the last I checked :D
2. Lions
3. Hellions
4. Bears

Dhoom:
1.Scorps that aggro both sides
2.several doors
3.Lions that aggro both sides
4. Jumera
5.1-2 sets of blighted trees
6. Fall room for some dmg

Gap:
1. Nothing

Blight:
1. 5 man patty that tracks(1 fade 4 trolls) for entire zone
2. Bear mob that aggros all sides at an important choke for both sides
3. small fade/trolloc mobs w of the bear room(might have been removed, can't remember)
4.At least 9 sets of trees. 5 of which are on the main spamaway, although 2 can be bipassed in turn for 1 set.
5.A spammable with another spammable inside with tentacles that aggro both sides
6.Few troll spys

S of GK zone:

1.A few worm mobs that aggro both sides with very high ob/dmg
2.At least 7 sets of trees, none of which are in main spamway path except a possible 1.
3.Dhounds that don't aggro.(meant to aggro?)
4.Tentacles in door, aggro both sides
5.Few troll spys

E of gk:
1. Dhounds that don't aggro.
2. deer Ie nothing more.

Looking at these lists, I think blight is still the best zone of them all.

I think tracking patties are unnecessary for both sides, but a moving patty seems just fine so as not to reference from it and always know where it is.

FD zone needs help imo:
If the zone N of fd could at least get the trees(equivalent) placed in the zone, I really think things will be better. It would be even more balanced if a few of these trees were placed on main spamways, but that might be unnecessary.(even the old placement of trees would help)

Also, the zone north of fd could possibly use a few aggro to both sides mobs, maybe a bear or too in chokey rooms and whatnot.

NW fd:
Please check out wolve's aggro to trolls
Trees added?

SA:

Eq?
Trees?(equivalent?)

E FD:
Trees?
Some things to assist LS? Would be cool to actually pk in this zone, rather than use it as a run away zone :)

E GK:
Take out egate and add in a longer way to a 2nd spammable gate(northgate possibly) for GK? as nico suggested to me earlier?
Add some ds mobs?

I really like troll friendly zones except E of gk, they all do a good job of helping dsers pk vs greater numbers and pk.

Whereas LS is skunked.

The reason I posted this was because 3 lsers were pking vs 4 dsers and we were losing, yet one of us had no light so they died and the other 2 tried to make a stand at our 4 man patty.

Of course we lost and the other lser died, leaving me to run inside like a baby.

Against superior numbers, it is very very difficullt to use a zone that doesn't help LS at all except for a patty that won't track outside a few rooms. Scouts don't count, either do troll spys. :P

Being as LS is typically outnumbered, there is just nothing we can do(grouping doesn't work, we get skunked by numbers).

Also, with the deletion of wgate fd, we now have to struggle in our own zones not only to survive, but to get in our own city.

Please offer any insights into this problems, as I'm sure i forgot several things, and anything ya'll think might help this problem.

I realize IMM's are busy, but the change to wgate showed some changes can be made, and that just crippled the hell out of us. It's so easy for trolls to get kills now, as our horses can barely make the run to doggate from ngate(not including any fleeing and moving about)

I really wish I could pk in a zone closest to my city vs numbers, but I just can't.

*edited:

Egate Gk removed, northgate added.

N of fd, around pond there was added a 4 man LS patty which only moves about in 5-6 rooms.

I still really really don't understand why the old ancient trees aren't imped, or their equivalent of sets of 2 spread out through north fd.

The problem with patties, even super powerful 4 man patties, is that they will not be hit at unless greatly outnumbered or very low hps by the lsers. And even then, a group of 3-4 can destroy those patties with ease.

Thus, adding the patty around pond really did not help anything at all, except catch a troll unwary if they chased too skeptically, and even then that's just mobs doing dmg.

Can we please instate some LS friendly mobs in sets spread out the zone? That are immovable?

Right now the best zone for me to pk in oddly enough is blight. Go figure, the trolls think they are all safe and don't even use it properly half the time.

Is it intentional to make LS the hardcore side now? :) I remember an IMM saying they had plans for n fd, would be great to get them sometime soon :)

So I take it no players have any problems with the zone layouts? Or noone cares?

Well I'm glad we both understand that you think it'd be great to give LS some friendly LS mobs.

I'll get to work on it right away!

Oh wait. Oh really?
