Dodge

Post by Nicotine »

Hello everyone,

at the moment it is my personal opinion that dodge is a bit underpowered. I know things are being tweaked like crazy so this post is as of Wednesday night at 12:30 AM, technically Thursday i suppose.... but anyway.

just now i get hit by nearly any weapon unbashed. i have 200 defense, and i personally think getting hit 90% of the time unbashed is a little degrading :)

just posting what i experience.

You are pretty much right.

I have 145 ob mounted, and sometimes broke your defense unbashed.

But also some other times you were buffing 2-3 ppl, ie the first time you were buffing a bashed dross(cut parry in half) and chase destroyed you with me following up.

But yes, dodge is absolutely terrible. And I died and lost my set to figure that out.

How'd you like the fleelag? It feckin rocks. :P Fleers are gonna regret fleeing now :)

I think its good they are changing it. Before today, dodge owned abs easily. Sartak for instance could buff myself and 2 mobs. I missed all 40 (for real) bashes I tried.

It is pretty over the top, however. I know I broke your defense too easily, even with multiple on you.

1 on 1 from what i saw looked fine though vurek was standing there letting me bash him till he was pretty much dead that i didnt really have much unbashed hits. once sarg came we hit him fairly easily unbashed(though again, wasnt much of that).

fleelag is disgusting but obviously being worked on given post in announcements. humans all they had to do was stand there and spam and i was practically dead.

I really liked fleelag. Its about time people have to stop spam fleeing like 60% of the mud does. It was rediculous when you could make a person flee 12 times in 20 rooms and they STILL had no fleelag.

Fleelag is absolutely fine.

That is exactly how zenrin/sarg killed me gap, I had so much fleelag from 7ish flees that I couldn't do shit.

And that's how it should be imo. It works both ways, this way we can't have ppl fleeing their asses off.

Really kinda fun, hurts like hell though.

And, makes chokes actually useful now, IE zenrin that's why you lost hps, we were sitting in a good LS choke room. Yet you even ran the good flee and came back in to get bashed. Shrug.

Fleelag roxors. :)

this kind of fleelag is going to make the burning people run the other way to avoid fleeing again, thus completely hagging everyone out. :D

totally agree yet it is a tad too much right now.

I am aware of how I got bashed, lost my HPs, and the cause behind it. maybe someone that wasnt in pk would be the right audience? sorry if the cause is meant to be good but this looks like a lecture on something so obvious that it looks like you think i'm a newb! *gasp!*

also dont understand why you threw in the part about me fleeing back in after getting the "good flee". i decided to go south after 2 failed flees and of course with my luck got a north flee. but that has nothing to do with fleelag so not sure what you're saying.

It's the FLEELAG that made it so that i very nearly got killed. 1 more flee and it would have been too much to avoid a bash, and this was after not too many flees of course. Now dont get my wrong im all for fleelag but it was just too much too fast right there. chase you will say the same thing when a group comes pummeling on you. i thought it looked fine once i slaughtered vurek, but once the tables turned i realized just how drastic it was.

Oh and vurek, you wouldnt have been garunteed to live had there been less fleelag as i was blocking a choke point. har! har! *pat*

It's called run N into gap and hide out :)

No you wouldn't have killed me, flee lag did, and i'm fine with it.

I'm glad you realize how "drastic" it is for both sides, as I practically gave a free kill. I was so lagged no commands would go through, not to mention the "you can't do anything message!" when I was bashed and fleelag wouldn't rectify and enter in time.

I'm not calling you a newb, I have the log(if you'd like me to send it to you), we were in a E W S room, you couldn't have fled north.

You fled east, completely safe to run into gap, yet reentered from the east, which is a fluke if you were trying to run, being as I was rolling another bash and chase was spamming for you, and you were batt.

I'm not demeaning you, and please stop with this aggresive attitude, I'm not here to make fun of you, I'm not here to fight with you, I'm not here to do anything with you but attempt at helping balance and pking with or vs you.

So please quit with the negativity towards me, as it also cost me my entire set for something I said on forums, which, is fine with me. You do what you want, and that's fine. Any more posts with massive negativity towards me when I think it not granted as it seems some people think I am always demeaning others, will be thoroughly ignored hence forward. I'm just tired of reading it, and it's always the same thing. Naturally my entire post will be criticized within seconds, but that's fine with me, if people can't get over it, then I'll just let it be. That's how they are I spose in life, so I'm not gonna change it.

This is the absolutely last time I have a "bout" with you zenrin, I don't come to play this game to be b itched at unnecessarily for reasons that are not there.

I still stand that the fleelag was absolutely terrific, it really made chokes worthwhile, and it even ruined nicotine(an infamous spam fleer, no offense :)) and it completely destroyed me.

Sadly these realizations can only come about by death or "unhappy" situations. But they do, and there it goes.

I had absolutely no clue about the massive fleelag, had read announcements, but didn't test as I had noone to pk against(no lsers on) so my end was in fleeing 5-7ish times and getting great fleelag mixed with misspams and failed flees :)

It's gonna be fun now :)

Hahah, whatever floats your boat man.

as for the rest of your post, all i want to say is grow up. im tired of having people log on and tell me what "vurek said", and then having you come onto the forums say contradict yourself.

i didnt return your gear because you said you dont need my respect. if you dont need it, you wont get it. you only prove your tendancy to disrespect with your shit talking and lying.
So please quit with the negativity towards me
my last post was in no way offensive and i'd appologize if it was except that i dont care if you were offended since you dont seem to give much a shit about the words you spread.

So if you have a problem with me, you mail me. if you cannot handle the words that we say in private, then i wont hide what i learn from the public. im not here to be your enemy unless you make me one, so stop with your little game and play the real one.

[on topic]ive said just about everything i have to say on this topic. i have not seen any pk today so i dont know the current situation with fleelag/dodge

well guys, there you have it. the guy cant think of anything to say thatll make himself look better so tries to make me look like im so pathetic that im not worth arguing with and instead laugh at.

i notice you do that a lot vurek. your "fools die laughing" comment when you cant find something else to say, followed by some random incomprehensable comment that is suppose to look like some kind of inside joke.

very immature way to handle your faults.

I don't want to be a forum nazi, so maybe I should try and get a "flame @ xxx" button put into forums so I know that the text that follows is just a personal conversation and not something I should waste my time reading in order to see what could be wrong with dodge.

In any case, if you can post some logs on how you or your buddy got torn up and was wearing dodge, and maybe what weapons they were wielding. As much information as possible is always nice.

Just a few words on dodge in general. It was definitly a little over the top before. Allowing easy fleeing and dodging wasn't good. Hopefully a bit of fleelag will make people think abit before fleeing around. If the level currently is over the top, then we can tweak that a bit as well. As for defense, I'd rather see medium dodge levels (I won't exactly state what I consider medium dodge) to be quite useful at parrying, but less so at dodging bashes. So when people die in their nice sets, a basic set that could be bought from the store (and with a little traveling) can still put them back into limited action.

I was using spiked moon axe with 145 ob and chase was using glittering sword or something(1h) with 140 ob.

Nico could sometimes parry first hits, yet couldn't parry when both of us were on, he had only 200 defense.

But any engaged round with chase and I on him, we broke defense I'm pretty sure 100%.

Same went with me against 2 absers using clubs or something(sorry don't know their ob) so I got torn apart easily as nicotine did.

My log is very messy, and it would take forever to even make pretty, and I think dodge was changed back to a somewhat lesser form than for that period of time where it was absolutely terrible.

An imm spoke from the light about a reboot in 30 minutes saying they would get us out of this hellhole, so I'm unsure of where dodge is at right now.

I think the solution of fleelag mixed with a small downing of the original dodge(where ravir says it's over the top) might be worth testing. I was bashing nicotine pretty easily(99% axes/bash).

Fleelag will definately help, the dodgers won't be able to run in circles as easily now, and will be definately alot more easier to land a bash timer whereas it took forever with old nonish-flee lag.

Really interested in buy stuff in shops like you said Ravir, as it is LS has no daggers in shops(don't know DS situation) so that would be pretty cool.

Then that would also require some more ways to get money :)

Sorry can't be more help right now, I'm going to have to pk some more against some dodgers, to see how the current dodge is, it changed alot in that 2 hr spam.

Thats in a 170 defense set. Not exactly the best dodge set, but a solo troll with a mere spiked axe was destroying me solo. Every time he engaged me he hit me unbashed solo. Not a post death anything, I didn't die and they eventually ripped.

Btw guys in that pk, we were returning but crash ate all the equipment :(

That log shows a lot of parrying unbashed. I know everytime I was hit solo, trolls broke my defense. This set is better than a set that two days ago buffed nicotine and nocrim.. Kinda went from really uber dodge to the opposite end of the spectrum.

I really don't think Sartak was parrying near enough as he should be.

I think he has very high % in dodge/shield parry, so he probably had better defense than you did chase(and dodge should at at least parry unbashed hits, especially semi-decent dodge).

Can't really find out until we find out what sartak's actual defense was. Please post sartak, would be helpful :)
