What exactly is happening?

Okay I just started messin around on this mud again maybe two days before it wizlocked. And Ravir's announcement just confuses me more than it does help, could anyone explain to me what exactly is going on?

We're going to transfer new code, just wizlocking the current mud so I can get the last few things I need from it before shutting it down. It will then be down for a bit, until everything is completed and ready to go. Then new mud will be up.
