warders

I have an idea for when the bond weave is created and we are able to have warders, even though this wasn't in the books i was thinking since the Sedai and warder can't be on at the same time everytime, that maybe sedai can get a warder issued? like not overpowered or anything, and maybe make it only rank 4 sedai and above can get one issued????

maybe have them like a merc so you can equip them but give them small malus's to like bash/dodge/parry/ob/abs%/lower hps(350ish)/unable to ride. etc etc etc. things like that so they can be helpfull so a sedai but not make it unfair. just a thing to think about since weave dmg is getting downed again and pretty much everything is getting downed. lol

I dunno this is just an idea, if it's a ridiculous idea then im sorry. :)

You have to be rank 5 sedai to get bonded.

And it isn't imped yet.

And leadable mobs are stupid.

I don't think this idea is ridiculous. I actually had the same thought, but having warders that can talk would be better imo :)

No, having leadable mobs is ridiculous.

This isn't wotmud, and lets not make it that way please.

I agree Nyoga, I don't want them to be leadable mobs in any way, shape, or form. But that doesn't make her suggestion ridiculous :P.

It would be nice to have gaidin though.

I was thinking that when someone reaches the proper rank (rank 9?) to be a blade master they should get the choice of either being a blade master or warder. I dont think it should come easy. And warders imo should be able to come from any clan cause in the books Aes picked whoever they wanted. If you dont have an aes friend on the mud blademaster would probably be the choice. I think the mob thing would be a bummer in pk tbh.

My 2 cents.

that sounds good rasten, but an aes sedai should be able to choose who she wants for a warder and shouldn't have to wait for them to get to rank 9 in there clan.

I don't think making rank 7 a requirement is unreasonable. It's very easy to get.

Aes Sedai (according to what i've heard from immortal conversation) won't be able to bond before rank 5 in their ajah. I believe that is the same qp requirement as rank 7 in any other clan? Correct me if I am wrong.

Not entirelly sure actually, and i understand what you mean but i think an aes sedai should be able to choose her gaidin, and then the gaidin would be enrolled into the clan for training, however he wouldn't be able to be bonded until he is ready (rank 5-7) so the first few ranks would be more like apprentices or trainees.

I think that the idea for warders atm is that they won't get any pk bonuses or anything but will be someone to hang out with/pk with for AS.

No, there will be bonuses.

And yes, warders can come from any clan.

Gosh people stop putting words in my mouth.

I would think Gaidin would be as follows: AS can pick any person from any clan who is a certain rank (5 to 6+). If the fellow wants to, he will be clanned into Gaidin, have his qps removed, and start fresh. He can get bonded at rank 5, and for every additional rank he gets his pk bonuses improve. While a Gaidin solo shouldn't be able to best 1 on 1 a fade or BM, his strength lies in the AS/Gaidin duo.

Rank 5 or 6 in any clan is a joke to get if you play the character even a little. While the character won't be able to become a remort, the character does become a quasi-remort at a much lower qps cost than the 1500 for traditional remort classes.

i like chase's idea :p gaidin should only get their bonus when they are in the same zone as the sedai.

ok so no to the leadable mobs idea then.

I agree with chase, but i think Aes Sedai should be able to bond at any rank aslong as they are Aes Sedai, but make the warder unable to get bonded untill they are rank 5 in the warder clan.

No, aes sedai will not bond below rank 5

Chase's thoughts are nice, like his face *dreamy* hehe jk.

On a side note - I dunno if they should get bonuses at every rank. There's not a single other clan that does that, including remorts.

Lets be careful with throwing out the bonuses just yet. There's already 1 clan who has bonuses for doing absolutely nothing, and don't even have to master in order to be better advantaged than any other player out there.

Bonuses are a nice thing - when done in moderation or all introduced simultaneously. We can't have 1 or 2 clans running around with bonuses and smashing things while the others wait for their 'promised' bonuses.

The state of bonuses for every clan on this mud is turning into wotmud. We'll go 5 more years before they even think about working on adding the rest of the clans in. In my opinion, all non remort bonuses should be totally removed until such time as all clans get bonuses - this would include warders.

White Tower gets a rank based bonus. Your gate timer shortens with rank.

So does the "other" channeler clan.

It shortens to what? twice the length of a bash?

I'll admit, that is a bonus, but still....... yeah.

Ko'bal also get a bonus, totally passive, has nothing to do with pk, period.

My main point still stands.

I wouldnt want them heavily bonused to be honest. Maybe the warder would get a slight HP increase, and autorescue(without lag). Beyond that I wouldnt want them to be anything more =P

Should also get TRIPLE BASH. like dual bash only works for 3 :P

yes, please lets make them more powerful than remorts.

Err well they should be. This isn't how its going to be because it would mess with game mechanics, but warders are perhaps the most powerful non-channelers in the wheel of time. In my opinion warders should have remort-like bonuses, HOWEVER they do not get any bonuses unless their Aes Sedai is around and they should have some kind of malus if they die. As I said this would mess with game balance and such but having a warder be an average person with. Im not sure, but i think if someone had to get rank 5/6 in a clan and then rank 5/6 in warders to be bonded they would deserve bonuses.

Of course they would aslo have to find an aes sedai willing to bond them.

Before you go making assumptions, please check the qp requirements for rank 8 vs rank 5 in one clan then rank 5 in another.

The qps are less than half.
