BMI accounts for approximately 5% of a bash roll. So it helps, but the difference between a high and low BMI isn't really going to be noticeable.

instead of bmi being based off of your character's height and weight, can there just be bmi for the different classes. this way warriors will bash slightly better than rangers, rangers slightly better than thieves, thieves slightly better than channelers instead of our current retarded system of probabilities based bmi?
