It's my intention to hand these tokens out to players who successfully help new players with the MUD. However, they must stick around, as this is the only way to ensure not only that the game benefits, but that whoever is attempting to qualify has given their true effort. So, here is the criteria that must be met in order to qualify:

1) The new player must stay active for two weeks. This does not mean logging one once the first day and then once the 14th day. There is no set criteria as for what we consider "active", but we will use our best reasonable judgment. Yes, we can check login and logout times.

2) The new player must be level fifteen in order to qualify. This is a fairly reasonable level requirement, especially with out leveling system.

3) Newbie must refer you. You can, of course, request this, and give instructions. However, we can't simply take your word for it that you helped them out. They have to give you credit. Through MUD mail, to either Ravir or myself, simply stating your name and that you indeed helped them for this time period.

4) We must confirm that this player is indeed a newbie. It's a very simple task. If you think I can't sniff a fake, you'd be surprised. And with that said, if I find out that anyone is trying to cheat, it won't be pretty.

Once we find that all the criteria has been met, we will deliver a token to you. You may then take the token to the merchant and exchange for items using the "exchange <item number>" command. You may also see a list of available items by using the "list" command in his room.

This may seem like a harsh set of requirements, but simply look it over again and you may realize it's not that bad. Get someone new to play and stay active, and you may be rewarded for it. There are no limits to how many newbies you may recruit at one time, but please be mannerly and do not attempt to recruit on a game which may not appreciate it.

If you have any questions, feel free to start a topic on the General Forums.

Sounds pretty cool but talking one of these mmorpg newbies into staying two weeks is going to be quite a task.

What about people who arent mud newbies or have played here before years ago such as Romeo who a few of us have been helping out quite a bit?

I'll concentrate on helping the nOObie Gristlyn out!

They have to have never played here before. It's not really going to do us much good having people focus on bringing back old players. That may help, sure, but we need to move on from the closed window of players we've had for the past three years.

And keeping new players on the game may be a challenging task, but I've kept a bunch of them here for weeks at a time. However, with the lack of players, we weren't able to keep them interested when we ourselves were forced to tend to other matters.

I intend to add a feature to let players know when a new character has been created, in order to allow them to quickly send a tell to the new players if they wish. I also hope to add in a feature where you can request to snoop another lower-level player in order to see what they're doing so that you may help them in a more efficient manner. Hopefully implementing those will help aid in this department.

obviously im biased towards getting older players back, but it seems like a quicker fix to get players faster. They will have a smoother transition, then you can focus on newer players etc.

I think caemy mobs being kinda strong is a good trade off for caemy not having a safe room like fm's easar room.

Lower their str but give caemy a safe room, it is supposed to be ls stronghold and newbie area.

Two great ideas, I love it.

How about making the snoop request more general so we can request to snoop whomever, I wouldnt mind snooping Waldo or Akrabbim as they pk, that would be pretty damn fun.
