ringing the bell of doom

I just get into Fal Dara and hear the bell a ringin
At the Battered Western Gates
Twin oaken gates tower above, they seem to creak at every gust of wind. Stone
bulwarks provide extra defense on the battered gates. Lights hang all along
the walls, and even with the gates out of commission, guards stand nearby to
make sure no one forces their way through.

Approaching the Western Gate
You are rapidly closing in on the West Gate, and the cobble stone path gets
smoother as you near the fortified walls surrounding the city. Directly to the
west you see gates manned by grizzled soldiers closing after a merchant comes
though.

A dry wind blows though Fal Dara, making the shutters of the houses clang
eerily. Far down the road there is the West Gate guarded by a veteran patrol
of city guards defending the Blight Boarder.

East : A large rat is here scurrying out of sight.

The cobbled road curves here around a magnificent towering keep chiseled from
dark gray stone. The keep was at one time perfectly smooth, but now pockmarks
and holes are evident from countless sieges and outright attacks.

closer the heart of the city. To the east, you see a fork in the road leading
to the gates and to the west is a path to the Keep.

Fork in the Lane
The road forks into three different branches here. Northward, the Malkier gate
can be clearly seen. To the south, the wall of the Fal Dara keep blocks all
passage. The second road moves both east and west, around the keep.

This road is easily wide enough for four carts to travel abreast. Soldiers
wearing the sigil of House Jagad can be seen constantly moving through the
street. Drab barracks line both sides of the road, providing housing for
Sheinaran soldiers.

Dominated by the large, iron bound gates to the north, this stone courtyard is
used as a marshalling ground for the soldiers of Shienar. The uneven stones
that make up the ground are worn smooth from centuries of use by both man and
beast.

road is rutted from traveling wagons and horses.
