Wait times

I think its fairly ridiculous to zap someone for breaking the wait times in some instances (for instance transferring ore from a miner to 'storage').

I'm not saying the wait times are ridiculous, i just think there should be some lee way when enforcing them as apposed to a blanket "zero tolerance policy". I completely see the justification in enforcing this rule when players alt for other 'bad' reasons or otherwise cause 'harm' to the mud by doing so. However, ostracizing a player by policing a policy to the T in a player base this small seems excessive and unjustified.

I really liked being able to switch between chars and transfer ore prior to the new system in place. I still do so despite the hard coding. This post is a preemptive address of this issue.

I see most problems occurring as a result of crossrace alting. As a solution, i'd propose removing the waittimes for same side alting while keeping the cross race waittimes. The 3 min rule should be kept only if a player has engaged in pk within the last 5 mins (i.e no quit just wore out, 3 min rule applies to you). Enforcing the 3 min same side rule should be regulated through the old means of the 'honor system' with immortals stepping in if need be.

I don't think this suggestion is unreasonable, and i hate having to illegally circumvent the hard coded wait timer all the time.

Sorry, but for several years, we had been doing what you are suggesting. Previous attempts of granting leeway were met constantly with what we specifically stated we did not want to see happening. And since we(in particular myself) don't have time to sit around babysitting the game by monitoring people switching characters and looking for what is acceptable and what is not acceptable, we've put the current system in place and are not granting any leeway.

The wait times are not unreasonable. If anyone is caught breaking them, they can expect to have their alts placed under a joint account, making it effectively impossible to switch no matter the location from which they attempt to log in, plus other punishment depending on the severity.

3 minutes isn't very long. I don't quite understand why you need to break the 3 minute enforced wait time.

Agreed.
