Track in Cities

Can tracking in cities be added to practice options? Its so annoying when people get low and just run to a random room and port when they are low. Its kind of a crutch and requires no skills at all. The odds of the person/people chasing these characters are slim to none considering you have to search 50 rooms (fd for instance, approx) to find them before their timer goes through.
If not allowing for a new practice that lets non-thieves track in cities, then can something else be done? Not to seem like a downer on channelers, but really it is a joke to escape. Atleast outside cities we can reasonably chase them. Inside cities, especially FD and FM, is a joke because there are quite a few rooms that don't have mobs in them. Im open to any suggestions that atleast make running into cities low and porting atleast somewhat fair for the side that actually got the person low.
And please don't say "you should chase faster" because thats a joke. The odds of catching someone, unless they wait around or go in the first empty room, is miniscule.

Oh and also, saying that "thieves can do it" really isn't much of a defense. Yes they can, but that requires that a thief actually has to be on and pking. So I should be required to have a certain character on as a prerequisite to chase down a channeler? Don't think so.

I would agree to non-thieves being able to track to some degree manually only if thieves can track manually outside cities in all sectors.
It seems like it was set up so that Warriors/rangers could autotrack on roads/forest type places, thieves could autotrack in cities, and not outside and couldnt track on roads so it was even to some degree. But I could be wrong.

rogues can manually track outside. warriors and rangers can't manually track inside.

And what, pray tell, can you track on stone streets? I am just curious, because it makes no realistic sense to be able to track in a city.

i'd imagine that the soldiers in the street would tell me, sir, he went that direction.

Is that before or after the screaming crowds of people trample him when an invasion is happening?

so you're arguing for trollocs being insta-killed when entering lightside cities?

I guess, tracking in the city for non thief class has some valid points. But all it will do is make thiefs even easier to kill. right now all you have to do is bash one three times (or maybe four) at the most and you can kill most of them. The cities are our only safe (and i use that term loosely) place. If we are being chased by either a warrior or hunter we have almost no chance of escape if we are outside. (yes there are exceptions - I get that, I am speaking generally)
At least if we get to a city we can maybe grab a tic or two to heal/get moves. and it is not like the city is a free pass mobs do agro and break hide on occasion.
Now I know the original post is directed towards channeler's but it will hurt the thief class the most.

manual track wouldn't make it that bad for rogues, you'd just have to move a room or two every now and then!

It is kind of silly that one of the safest places for ANYONE to hide is in a city of the opposing race. I think this will end up happening eventually, but not until there's better class balance and maybe slightly more mob support outside of cities.

no its not the safest place to hide, I never said it was safe it has plenty of obsticles. it is however, the only place a thief can hide and have a chance to heal or get moves (especially with a trolloc). It is only a chance, as Lamgwin suggests you should move a room or two ever now and then. However you still have moves to consider. Not to mention if you are found which will happen, then you will get hammered at that point.

My problem is not thieves, because thats their forte to hide in cities. My problem is that random channie, who just got crit, can run into a city, and spam to a random room with no mobs in it, and port out. The random guy chasing this channie has to be either a thief, or really lucky to pick the room that said channie is hiding in. Not to mention they have to have the spare moves to find said channie. Then, if they do find the channie, he/she/it can run around to another random room and start the timer again. This is rinse/repeat until either the channie ports out or the chaser runs out of mvs.
Rediculous. Until everyone else gets issueable smoke bombs like they used to have then this really isnt balanced.

The only thing I can think chase is talking about is obould. Because I am rank 5 and it takes me longer to port out than is almost ever feasible in active pk.

Im not specifically talking about Obould, not at all. Just pointing out something that happens anytime. Even when I am on my channeler I use this and don't think its too fair.

Manual tracking needs to be available in cities.

Going back to this. I feel like this is one of the things which really would help pk lately, seeing as how it is in cities recently. People who are low can't just hide out in cities and live when tons are on. I am including this after I survived multiple bashes when 3 were on me in FD and I was able to survive until more help came.
My rational is this: Thieves have autotrack in cities. They also have manual track outside cities. Other classes have autotrack outside cities, yet they cannot track inside cities. That doesn't match up.
