Moves.

So, the problem I've been noticing with pk is this.
A human can be inside of GK, and run south until his/her horse haggs, then dismount and run on foot, or remount and make it safely to Fal Dara.
A trolloc that has been pking near Fal Dara can not make it safely to gatekeep.
So we reach an imbalance.
I say to open up pk all the way to Tar Valon, lets put a DS fort northwest of Fal Moran. A formidable fallback point for DS to run to when pk goes south instead of just being run haggard by horse hopping humans.
This fort should be very well planned out so as to be both a savior and deathtrap to the fleeing trolloc. It would need to have enough rooms that a trolloc could flee around inside, but not be so huge that he can get lost in it (like Fal Moran).
As for the exits, I would say it suggest 2, one gated, one not.

i think you're understating the difficulty of a trolloc going from fd to gatekeep. hardly ever see anyone hag out from fd-gk especially considering tics are only a minute each.
there are already ds mobs w of fal dara.
also, it seems odd to me if the argument is trollocs can't make it from fd to gatekeep, then why would you ask for mobs nw of fal moran? that's even further away?

i just ran from n gate fd to gatekeep on my trolloc and had 77 moves left over once hitting inside of the gatekeep. that's a 38 room buffer.

Numbers for running between a few key locations, make of them what you will:
Trolloc: 40 moves gained per tick
= 20 rooms
Human: 26 moves gained per tick
= 13 rooms
Warhorse: 160 base moves, 40 gained per tick
= 80 rooms and 20 per tick
White stallion: 110 base moves, 22 gained per tick
= 55 rooms and 11 per tick
114 rooms between 1n FD and Gatekeep
= 228 moves
33 rooms between 1n FD and Gap patrol
= 66 moves
57 rooms between Gap patrol and Blight patrol
= 114 moves
34 rooms between Blight patrol and Gatekeep
= 68 moves
84 rooms between 1n FD and Blight patrol
= 168 moves
23 rooms between 1n FD and FM patrol (through city)
= 46 moves
28 rooms between 1n FD and FM patrol (not through city)
= 56 moves
45 rooms between basin and n FD patrol (human)
= 90 moves
53 rooms between 1s Gatekeep and Blight Scout
= 106 moves
40 rooms between basin and Elder Rhelwid (stedding)
= 80 moves

thats all very informative and was actually helpfull. but a trolloc would be at 1n fd n gate waiting for full moves before he/she would run gk. they could of been inpk there for running around and lowing their current moves becaus they ether were chaseing or just moving around to find more pk.
114 rooms between 1n FD and Gatekeep
= 228 moves
the average trolloc would have what? 230mvs? maybe 250mvs? most after or during a bit of pk would most likely have around 100vs left by the time they decide their not gunna win.
Although correct me if im wrong.

You have 442(4442) hit and 236(236) movement points.
Meaning 5 bad flees at chokes and I wont make it home from fresh.
A human on a horse with half moves can still chase north and horse hop at one of two places north gap can run me haggard.

you are ignoring tics, crunch.

Does it take you a tic to catch up to someone between Fal Dara and Gatekeep?

can you run from fd to gk in a tic?

This seems more the case of you having a bad set of mvs. Its rediculous when I hamstring a guy who just faded to fm pat (so less mvs from fade) and he can run straight in to gk in about 2 tics.

If you're talking about me, it takes me a lot longer to get there than 2 tics if I'm being pursued and have just faded down from Murash.

I was saying in general because its happened with a couple different chars.
More like all you have to do is flee and run 10-20 rooms. Flee again once they chase you down. That can make you have plenty of tics for mvs. This makes it wayy easy to do whatever with troll mvs. I was trying to highlight how troll mvs arent nearly as terrible as they are said to be

They aren't really terrible, but back to the original point... Something DS friendly northwest of Fal Moran would bring pk to new parts of the mud. Do we agree on this?

what's the argument for it?
so far this is your argument.
p1: humans can run from gk to fd. true
p2: trollocs can't run from fd to gk. false
c:we need a fort nw of fal moran. wtf?!

Oh and ya, it would make pk fm a ton more fun. But it would be a lot better just to scrap the zone I think. We have like a player base of 12-15 tops, so I think downing mobs/making smaller, more to the point zones would be better.
