Apparently I spoke to soon, I thought the op was referring to exp as it was years ago but after testing it today I see it has been downed a bit, so yeah let's make exp as it was just a few weeks ago.

the last time that the imms decided to try and make this mud more like wotmud, and did things like making exp harder, and adding in more strict roleplay, the mud ended up losing part of its playerbase and didn't recover for a long time.
please don't make that same mistake. easy leveling is one of the perks that people enjoy about playing here.

Alt votes don't count. And besides, what mobs are you killing? Rhinos and trees will get you half a million exp, and my alt killed a tree in 8 bashes, two of which she missed.

For LS, south of Caemlyn is a smorgasbord of cheap and effective xp. There is even a mob that awards you xp.
For DS, worms, tentacles and trees all give nice xp.
Like most things, its just a question of how you approach xping. Top tip - stab/charge/skewer your way to level 50 then reset to what ever gives you a happy smile.

trees in blight were giving 250k. worms were giving 800k i believe, or it was 600k. bring back old exp, there doesn't seem to be a good reason as to why it was changed in the first place?

And there doesn't seem to be a good reason as to why it was set at double in the first place.

because when this mud was set up, it was supposed to be different from wotmud. at first you could stab a tree or a worm and gain 9 levels in one go. then they downed it more and more and more to its current level. it seems to me the imms are trying to make this mud more wotmudish, and when this has happened in the past, it's backfired every time.

When the mud was reimped and everyone started over it literally took an hour for 1 level. Its pretty good as it is..

How much exp do you get off a tree at wotmud? I'm fairly certain it's not half a million, but I could be wrong. Also, we don't require you to group after level 30 to get full exp. And since you brought it up, not everything can be different from wotmud (otherwise we wouldn't have clans!)

I've begun leveling a character from scratch to test exp on the human side. This is being done using a dark steel lance and wearing a newbie kit. I'll keep this post updated with my progress. So far:
level 1-5: 8 minutes
levels 5-10: 27 minutes, with talking to Avaine and helping Otar. Trophy:
[ 1] A brindle mongrel
[ 31] a bulky-brown moose
[ 3] a chipper little bird
[ 2] a frisky buck
[ 2] a gray-feathered goose
[ 2] a large elk
[ 3] a large plains coyote
[ 1] a large rat
[ 2] a milk cow
[ 2] a red robin
[ 1] a scurrying field mouse
[ 29] a shy, brown deer
[ 82] a small deer
[ 2] a small red parrot
[ 3] a white domestic duck
[ 3] a white spotted cow
[ 4] a wooly sheep
[ 15] an antelope
[ 1] the fierce wolverine
levels 10-15: 26 minutes, spent some time regenning. Trophy:
[ 1] A brindle mongrel
[ 31] a bulky-brown moose
[ 3] a chipper little bird
[ 2] a frisky buck
[ 2] a gray-feathered goose
[ 2] a large elk
[ 15] a large plains coyote
[ 1] a large rat
[ 2] a milk cow
[ 2] a red robin
[ 20] a rhinoceros
[ 1] a scurrying field mouse
[ 29] a shy, brown deer
[ 82] a small deer
[ 2] a small red parrot
[ 3] a white domestic duck
[ 3] a white spotted cow
[ 4] a wooly sheep
[ 15] an antelope
[ 1] the fierce wolverine
levels 15-20: 18 minutes, spend some time resting. Trophy:
[ 1] A brindle mongrel
[ 31] a bulky-brown moose

[ 2] a frisky buck
[ 2] a gnarled ancient tree
[ 2] a gray-feathered goose
[ 12] a hippopotamus
[ 2] a large elk
[ 23] a large plains coyote
[ 1] a large rat
[ 2] a milk cow
[ 2] a red robin
[ 32] a rhinoceros
[ 2] a rough grey stallion
[ 1] a scurrying field mouse
[ 29] a shy, brown deer

[ 2] a small red parrot
[ 3] a white domestic duck
[ 3] a white spotted cow
[ 4] a wooly sheep
[ 15] an antelope
[ 1] the fierce wolverine
levels 25-30: 34 minutes, took more time due to resting and traveling. Would have been quicker if I hopped horses. Trophy:
[ 1] A brindle mongrel
[ 1] a brown snake
[ 31] a bulky-brown moose
[ 3] a chipper little bird
[ 2] a frisky buck
[ 10] a gnarled ancient tree
[ 2] a gray-feathered goose
[ 2] a grove tree
[ 33] a hippopotamus
[ 2] a large elk

[ 4] a rough grey stallion
[ 1] a scurrying field mouse
[ 29] a shy, brown deer
[ 82] a small deer
[ 2] a small red parrot
[ 4] a spiky patch of grass
[ 3] a white domestic duck
[ 3] a white spotted cow
[ 4] a wooly sheep
[ 15] an antelope
[ 2] the fierce wolverine
Total time for levels 1-30: 113 minutes. That's just under 4 minutes per level. Levels 31-50 would probably take another 2-3 hours at most. Human exp is fine.

After you finish that test on ls try it on ds would you fogel? I think you will find a big difference, that is if you know where to exp on ls.

I'll do DS some time soon, but I'm not expecting it to be much worse than LS was.

first off, none of the imms have actually answered the fundamental question. that being: why was the exp amount changed in the first place?
secondly, fogel, try leveling a non stabber trolloc from 30-50, then get back to me. (you're welcome to use malaki in your test

)

I was averaging a level per 10 minutes post 30 as a trolloc, using this kit:
<worn> a light woolen shirt
<worn> a pair of cheap cloth sleeves
<wielded> a dark steel lance
<worn> a pair of thin leather pants
<worn> a pair of broken-in shoes
This didn't seem too bad to me, but due to complaints I changed things slightly:
-The sector type for some of the rooms in Blight will better match their room description (meaning that a lot of the Mountains rooms are now Forest or Plains, makes for better charging).
-The exp given for ancient and rotting trees has been equalized. Ancients have gone down, rotting have gone up.
-Exp for the "enormous deranged beasts" has been upped considerably, and a small boost in exp was given to enraged bears.
Also, here's a tip. Be sure to clear East Blight and Niamh Pass, as a lot of mobs that you might normally skip like the ogiers or bandits give decent exp.
