Corpses Over Reboots

As of the next reboots, corpses that are on the ground at the time of either a reboot or a crash will be restored once the game comes back up. Keep in mind that corpses have a set lifespan. The remainder of that lifespan will be carried over to when the game comes back up, and the corpse will continue to rot.
This is mainly being put in place to help assuage the loss of gear over crashes. We're also planning to put a few rooms in convenient locations that will save gear over reboots for purposes of loot returning. We'll announce when that is put in place.

We've added three rooms that will store equipment over reboots:
- 1s 1e of the Trolloc Keep's south gate:
Beneath a Vine Covered Wall
A high wall climbs three spans into the air, capped with large iron spikes.
Blighted foliage grows right up to the edge of the wall, staining it with
splotches of red, yellow, and black. Long thorned vines grow up to nearly the
top of the wall, so many that it covers entire sections. To the west a massive
gate seemingly made of bone rises out of the forest. A decaying blighted
forest grows southwardly.

- 1n 1e of Fal Dara's Malkier Gate:
Road to Fal Dara
As you move along down the dusty road to Fal Dara, you notice that there is a
smalle glade to the north of you. To the north-east Tarwin's Gap awaits you
soon. The heat from the sun makes you drys your tounge quickly. But it seldom
rains on this long and dusty road. The sun is beating down on you, makes you
weary and confused. You look around to see if there might be a place for you
to stop, and get a nice drink of water.

- 1e of the Tarwin Gap Basin:
Towards the Center of Tarwin's Gap
Approximately the center of Tarwin's Gap, the walls of the Mountains of Dhoom
are spread further out here. To west, it seems as though massive chunks of the
mountain wall were torn out, allowing for a wider pass through Tarwin's Gap.
The pass becomes much narrower to the south, however.

Any item dropped in one of these rooms should save over reboots.

While this has been an improvement, corpses previously were only saving their contents on a tic-by-tic basis. This will now be changed to coincide with autosave. That is, if a corpse is looted, its contents will not be erased from the game's database until the very same moment that players are autosaved. This means that so long as someone is holding an item from a corpse, that the item will be retrievable. Should someone drop an item in a room that is not one of the three listed above before an autosave occurs, then that item is at risk of being destroyed from a crash or reboot. Scalps will also immediately save to a player's object file once they scalp command is used successfully, so they should never be at risk of being lost so long as the person holding it does not drop it.
As far as I'm concerned, these changes should be sufficient to render most reimbursements unnecessary. The tools are in place to help ensure that items do not inadvertently delete. If you drop an item onto the ground, and that room is not one of the three listed above, you should be aware that you are at risk of losing that item if the game crashes. These rooms are put in place for the very purpose of allowing you all to return gear to one another without risking them being lost. If you drop gear into the wrong room, then that's on you.
