New weaves

This is where you all should post questions/complaints/whatever about the weaves. I won't be giving out all the information about them immediately, so please try them out for a bit. Also, don't automatically assume they should do something (like be affected by weather or something) and start spreading that rumor around.

Again, everyone should thank Fogel for putting these weaves in.

Quicksand is rediculous honestly. Maybe the most overpowered weave ever recorded.. :P

Into a Forest
The trees in the forest here are somewhat sparse, but the woods become much
thicker to the east. To the west, the trees open up, and a beaten path can be
espied, under the shadow of the Mountains of Dhoom.

You see fresh tracks of Gestahl leaving east.
You see almost fresh tracks of Gestahl leaving west.

A small fluffy rabbit hides from predators.

Within the Forest

So basically, its 1 less pulse than bash, it lands 100% on any setup if weave works, and gives time for 2 big weaves. Just had Gestahl crit and die because it basically makes pking vs a channie impossible unless you are in a safe room.

Approaching the Fal Dara Gates
Here are the mighty gates of Fal Dara which have withstood battle after
countless battle against the minions of the Dark One. Leading away from the
gates, a road travels toward the east, bordered by the Shienaran Forest. The
road is rutted from traveling wagons and horses.
[ Exits: n e s ]
You see fresh tracks of a ridden mount leaving south.
You see fresh tracks of a trolloc leaving south.
A tall post stands here holding a torch to create a lamp.
A black warhorse is standing here, being ridden by you.
*Gestahl* is resting here.
...*Gestahl* glows with a bright light!

Your fame has been diminished.
You are dead! Sorry...
Crossroads of Fate

Not going overboard, just giving examples of how powerful it is. No reason why anyone in that position, beat vs a really crit channie, should die. Especially when you dont even have time to even try a move, in this case bash.

Oh but the other weaves look great. :P

A few things as of next reboot:
-Blindness will now properly hide the names of actors in your room
-Drain will now recover some mana in addition to damaging your victim's
-There will no longer be a double message when weaving on yourself

Before Tarwin's Gap
The tall Mountains of Dhoom loom upwards, shadowing the sky here. Nearing
Tarwin's Gap, the two seperate ridges of the mountains are now becoming more
and more visible, outlining the narrow passage of Tarwin's Gap. It is apparent
that the passage runs mostly south to north, but the entire stretch of the
passage cannot be seen due to impediments and rocks thrusting out of the walls
of the two ridges.

Maybe its just me, but that weave is still retarded. It makes playing toe to toe with a channeler fruitless because it pretty much freezes the player in the room for atleast 2 rounds for plenty of weaves. Someone else please post you experience vs it so it doesnt just seem like me complaining. If everyone else says its reasonable I won't bring it up again.

I lowered the duration, but channelers will still probably be able to get off a level 10 weave if they time it well/dont get hit. This may or may not be permanent.

Its still retarded. I refuse to play vs this weave.

As of next reboot, I've added a saving roll to Quicksand based on the victim's dodge bonus.

I'm not certain if that's the answer Fogel, That means absers will get targeted with quake.

I've accounted for that, there's a minimum avoidance rate that is increased by a factor of the person's dodge bonus.

I almost say make it so that you cannot weave on a person who has been quicksand..ed, or you cannot use certain weaves.

i don't see why, quicksand is pretty much useless since bash is a little over half of its time and you can interrupt it just like any other weave... pretty simple to take someone out who uses that instead of bash imo

wth... quicksand is now too nerfed to be at all useful, i just tried to do it on a lion and look.

You begin channeling the appropriate flows...

Okay.

A huge lion tries to hit your legs, but you parry the attack.
You strike A huge lion's hands.

over 2x longer timer than bash, and it can't be used while engaged?
wtf?...
why not make it bash's equivalent with 1-2 tic longer timer and same incapacitation time?

channies shouldn't have bash as a part of their weave arsenal when that's about all warriors and rangers have to rely on. I'd rather see a low dmg weave or a status weave do a 1 round stun on a really low %.

Well i'm a channie who uses bash as a large part of my arsenal, your point?

Weave arsenal, weave is the key word.

My first thoughts before I thuroughly begin testing each weaves is a general one. Weaves that cannot be cast while engaged are comparable to stab and charge. Namely, that they should have a higher benefit than normal weaves. This thought comes about because of the weave decay. Based on what I have seen against mobs, it does not do enough damage. I would suggest upping the minimum to 50 and the maximum to 65. Even if the time it lasts all rolls the maximum damage of 65, with is still comparable to half a stab or charge, which it should be.

Decay works quite well vs players. It just doesnt seem to affect mobs much.
