Any chance we can reintroduce disengage missed bash on a low %?

I agree, I was thinking we need to be able to have disengage bash on %.

We also need charge though too!

I think this warrants a poll.

I say absolutely not.

I say this because as it used to be, it was beyond easy to stab already, it was made harder with the increase of fleelag, but any experienced stabber can learn to deal with that.

As I used to stab a ton, I never had any problem.

Also, there are a few additions to making stabbing easier:

1.Higher notice required to see hiddens(I fail with 92% sometimes, so this is actually very nice)

2.You can start timers on engaged PC's vs PC's now. That is also very easily allowing for stab too.

I also disagree with this greatly because I do not want to see what I see on wotmud(yes wotmud), as stabber hiding in room while 2 bashers are fighting, running timers and then thye might land if EITHER abser gets disengage bash, which is outrageous in my opinion.

If I'm in the middle of a battle, I wouldn't think I could get stabbed in the back as I'm swinging around a huge weapon and moving around(I really hope people don't think these fighters are standing there and "taking turns" at hitting like Combat system in FF7 etc.[although technically we are])

*Also, I have not tested, but I need to, I'll try to get this done later if I see another player:

but when you flee off a person running a timer on you, then reenter, that bash will either land or miss. But if it lands, it doesn't engage you, it allows you to leave west etc or fully engage if you wait for the round after bash.

But, here's the trick, If I think the basher misses on you, they will be sitting, and not engaged, thus there is a simple form of disengage bash.

Plus of this would be that the stabber get's fleelag so can't do this continuously, and the basher won't want to run too many reenter bashes on stabbers especially while low.

Of course, this could be a bug, I hadn't thoguht about it much before.

*And I think polls are silly, I have over 10+ forum characters, and I'm sure alot of other players do too, and I've seen on other forums people will frequently keep voting with different characters which makes it not an accurate poll.(I won't do this, just pointing out why polls are inaccurate.){I can't vote in a poll in this forum either it seems :D}

looking at it from that point of view, i agree with you vurek.

however, i think that if the engage bug ever gets fixed, we should still reintroduce disengage bash on a low %. in my personal opinion, it's the engage bug that's making it easy for stabbers to get stuff off, because people don't have the chance to get away while they're stuck fighting no one.

also, when a basher misses a bash and you try to stab, he still registers as fighting, not just stunned.

also you have to think, likely once clans get re-introduced there'll likely be the usual profusion of dark side time stabbers when always outnumbering the opposition.

They also changed bash so you can run a bash.

Used to be you could only run a bash if you bashed by names, a fair few people complained about this(myself included maybe?, stab was stupidly easy then though) but it was quite effective only being able to run bashes on someone if you bashed them by name, added a bit more diversity.

As a person who enjoys playing stab, and will play stab and every other type of setup (charge when it get's imped etc), I just feel strongly about disengage stab.

But possibly, if it is really needed, put it on a super low % of happening, but if you were getting attacked like the log of Nicotine and Chase, and chase missed and got disengaged, I think it should break the targets hide(thus maknig the landing % go way downward, as I'm still 100% against it :P).

Just really don't like something like this, Axxey pointed out what might be possibly happening, but I'm going to destroy stabbers who do that :)

Just not a fan of what I see over on wotmud of several things, and this is one of them. I always hated that I'm the one trying to bash a master WB user who is already hitting me very hard2x a round, and I miss a bash and get disengaged, and they blicked me from my already lowered state, same thing with fighting dsers.

Just wasn't cool, wasn't fun at all, was actually pretty damn lame and screams of unbalance.

I honestly think the path of a stabber shouldn't be used for stabbing in group pk(unless you really konw what your doing, you can do it with current system easily), should be more of a support character(as Vurek is atm, I can't really do well in abs vs abs fights solo heh). Otherwise the stabber should be the scout, the one that lures, does alot of other satisfactory functions, all of which can be ballsy and push dodge to the limits if used correctly.

I landed 4 stabs today in just an hour or 2. Some of the other stabbers around were landing stabs too.(this was 3 humans vs 8ish trolls)

Granted one had low notice, but the others had high enough, just catching them unawares.

Hell I even got stabbed all w caem spamming a wrong target.

Totally 100% against disengage stab, felt like oldschool stab today :D

Disengaged bash has other uses I rather liked, such as getting out of doors and switching targets in melee. Of course, I rather enjoyed using it to get stabs off as well...

It really is unnecessary though, I see no reason to put it back in

I would like to see something done to help balance these two skills but not sure if this is the answer, I realize dodgers arent supposed to be able to stand up to basher in head up melee but atm bash is so powerful we are seeing the most successful characters as bashers but not necesarrily abs usually combo. I liked the old days of being able to parry hits, hell i liked the old days of being able to dodge a bash but atm thats not possible without wearing alot of rare - unique dodge gear and trinks, the only rare-unique piece of eq needed to tear up said dodger is a heavy ass wpn like the hammer.

So balance out the big wpns like hammer, claymores, put more mid end dodge out there, and introduce one or two daggers that can actually stab for more than the dmg of a bash :P

emerald knife has terrific stab, so do a few other daggers.

I've blicked ppl with 400 hps before, i've stabbed for around 300ish consistently with emerald knife :)

Also, the main problem i have is there is no middle dodge. IT's ben said before, and I'll repeat it again.

Why can't we have middle dodge? For instance, someone with a lower end DB like 70ish range, why can't they dodge like 40% bashes from big weapons, they will still get mauled but they are dodging. Why not at least 30%?

I'll say it again. My dodgers dodge less bashes than my absers, and that's just not right to me.

my dodgers dodge fine.

You have 80+ db right? :P Basic sets don't get that high, either do nearly mid end sets.

My 20 dex dodger has a pretty damn nice set, only has 76 db dismounted. And I hardly dodge bashes, again I dodge less on the dodger than the basher.

All I'm saying is make 60-70ish db range count for something, 25% dodge would be better than the current slugfest.

strength of combo is not getting hit all the time unbashed.

dodge i can get 77db quite easy.

hardly any of my set is difficult to get, i got nearly all of it(apart from dagger) solo or with 1 other to help me.

wear dodge trinkets rather than highest defence trinkets

I tested with a dodge set instead, results still are not very satisfactory. :)

I first obtained all dodge eq I could solo, I went for pure dodge not worrying about combo, I was pulling 150ish def, people were able to hit me consistently without having to bash me. The last few days I have smobbed alot and in all that time I have obtained some decent eq to give me close to 180 def, I pull 71 db and as Vurek can tell you from our pk session yesterday he bashed the crap out of me, of 10 or so bashes I dodged one, he would also hit me alot in melee. What I have learned is pure dodge is suicidal, you can not run into cities due to call mob because one bash and you will die as I have on many occasions, healthy to dead from one bash, so we see all ex dodgers wearing combo, well combo bashers is the shit but combo thieves isnt all that its worked up to be.

Vurek is correct we need mid end trinks that are obtainable alot easier than the high end rares, as he said it has been said but apparently it needs repeating again and again.

The dodge we can obtain ona solo basis isnt low end its freaking junk, just to get a scarf you have to kill an easy mob in TV and the scarf only gives 1 pb, to upgrade from that you get a chain from an Aes Sedai mob which is 1 db, 1 db!?! From a blinding fireballing mob within a city with callmob.

Body wear, go with a crappy vest or green shirt until you can get a hauberk, but you either have to kill a human dodger wearing one or hope you can be the first to buy one in baer after reboot, this is the same problem wot had with the LSS selling in Cairhien, hope we dont have the problem of shop bots they did.

ring loads are ok, neckwear loads really arent, bodywear loads arent, cloaks are ok, boots ok, sleeves ok, shields are not ok!!, we either are using a targe or a silver, we need something between the two. earring loads are ok, leg wear ok, dagger loads ok, axe loads ok, longblades two handed ok, long blades one handed not ok.

I wasn't on yesterday pking vs any dsers :) Only one I saw was gristlyn late at night at like 11:40 PM EST :P

So if you had thought I was ...Allik? I'm not, I was actually on ds at the time exping :)

But mid end dodge just needs a peek. I mean, it's not like dodging 25% is going to help a ton, it's just going to guarantee you can actually last some, getting bashed 50% still hurts like hell.
