equipment

After playing for over a week now, I've seen that abs arent so hard to come by, all decent weapons are reasonably easy to aquire but decent dodge is next to impossible to attain. An axe loads on a soloable smob that will sit down 200 def and continually break anything lower than that, but to obtain a single piece of decent dodge I need 4 or more smobbers.
Yesterday I saw 2 other people on human side all day long, today after 10 hours of boredom I've seen, reo, chase, aemonn, and a level 1, and most of these people were not on at the same side.
You guys want pk (this is a pk mud) well give us some equipment to work with, with 170 def in the best set I have thus far aquired I dont parry or dodge any hits. Give me a miniscule chance at pk and I'll go for it, but after 15 some odd deaths I have absolutely no reason to do anything but exp and occasionally run to a city when people in nice sets show up.
Do you really need to ask why we have such a tiny playerbase?

i find the harder practices much harder too
but i see your point with dodge, on my dodger i cant really dodge any bashes with near 70 db i dodge more with my abser with 0 db than that guy, i think nicotine or lithium said somewhere else that there was crappy dodge and then really nice dodge, just really no in between

Just wondering why you made a new equipment thread instead of using the old one...

So it looks like more people are posting and more players are playing :p

I find some abs weapons way to powerful, alot of the weapons are very similar in stats between the different classes etc.
Also seeing some weapons with high ob, high weight, and high dmg.
Shrug, doesn't make sense to me. I always get confused to where the damn door to Balance-Room A is .
I will further this absolutely ridiuclous and atrocious statement later, possibly in another thread to show more players are playing, with some actual evidence of weapon stats.
Till then. Oo. I found the bathroom at least.

equipment, it's all about supply and demand. At the moment there is a high demand for certain weapons and good dodge but no supply. we do not have the player base to go smobbing on a constant basis, since I've been playing I have smobbed twice, once on ds 4 of us killed skeletal knight and he loaded 100% junk, then we got ruled by snake king. On human side 3 of us smobbed ghost, he loaded an emerald dagger and diamond earring, then we smobbed aiel who loaded a shoufa.
time spent smobbing
ds - over 2 hours for no eq
ls - over 2 hours for a dagger, shoufa, and earring
over all time played this week - estimated at 10 hours per day
So the problem is not only that smob groups need to be larger than the current pbase but smobs loads are very limited making smobbing not exactly worthwhile. Also another problem is the majority of the pbase wants to earn their eq through pk, but look at it this way.
I make a char, then need eq, I go kill xxx for his and now he is naked. So we are now one set short for a character on the mud. Next someone elese makes a char and gets eq through pk, see the problem? With this mentality there will alway be an equipment deficit. With equipment deficits comes unwelcomed behavior: greed, stealing, etc.
Heres an idea, it's simple but brilliant, IMM's you guys need to introduce eq into the game, it doesnt have to be top end eq but not crap either. Do this by having mob raids, you could announce them before hand so everyone could participate. In the end it doesn't matter who gets the eq as long as it doesnt go on storage and is in the game, giving everyone the possibilty at killing the wearer and attainting it for themselves.

A moderate but still not 100% satisfactory answer might be that when you kill said target in pk, don't take all their stuff, just take a thing or 2, return the rest.
This can result in a long time to getting a set, when there is always the possibility of you losing your entire set to someone else, but a most beneficial and responsible outcome can come from the player directly(with no help of the IMM's)
This will also result in both players having nearly similar sets, or both having mediocre but still perfectly playable sets, thus breaking the harmony of 1 player with a set and 1 naked.
Not intending negative energy to any player, this is simply the way I see it and act it, which is in no way the best.

sounds good vurek, so how come you, chase, and druss took my full set?

Ok. Im gonna have to reply to that. A certain dodge person died to an abs person who did not need the set. It was later seen on you. (Including a new vest thats only in one shop on ls). That for one reason is why you shouldnt get it back. That would be exactly what you are saying we did to you.
NEXT: We killed you. We all three needed some of the set, but the other two were nice enough to let me use it. Earlier in the day I killed a trolloc and I took one thing of his because thats all I needed. Greedy?
Finally, you mentioned to me how "DS now has no eq, so dont expect pk." Then smob. DS always has atleast 4-5 more people on compared to LS. Today I got on DS and there were 5 people on. I havent see 5 people on LS in over 2 months. You can actually smob. We only take what we really need, and we needed your set (which you got all of it from a character). I enjoyed pking with you, but this was an unnecessary post.

Well with the eq deficiency and nothing being done about it there is little reason to play here atm, we dont have a large enough pbase to smob (not that people want to anyways) and there seems to be the wot greed mentality, people get kills and take every last piece of eq even if they don't need it.
I can deal with the greed if I have more eq available, but that isnt the case, something needs to be fixed or this mud is goning to loose the last few players it has.
Some of you need to realize this isnt wot and we dont have their pbase.

Chase is wearing the set you were wearing, he dropped the one he was wearing in exchange, I don't see anything wrong with that, as it had just been looted from Dakeyras, which might be considered "wotmud greed" if you'd like to establish that.
Osis however was a different situation, which is to be dealt with between the Druss and Osis, if they ever feel like it.
I don't understand this desire for more eq, I really just don't. I've been running around the past few days in beyond shitty sets, with beyond shitty eq, and doing just fine. I just have to know my limitations, and i've gotten killed several times because I just can't function as well.
But to me that's the fun of it, I don't think I've ever had as much fun in the past couple months than running aruond with my 130ish+ defense comboer with 290 hps.
I just don't really understand it. All you need is a targe/large iron bound, and a weapon(if your dodge). Then a flask and a dagger to butcher meat(which I find is a pain in the butt to get sometimes if no money, but can get money

)
Then there's a lot of little mobs all over the place that load stuff, most in LS zones I think. Hell, i've killed barbarian and other little mobs to help reequip darkside players, and it worked fine.
Just hope that everything wouldn't be seen with such a negative light, no way bashing you evilina, but that's just weak ambition to play.(you were also fighting what i'd consider the ultimate 3 man group on this game, and chase had a shit set and I had 85% bash/lblades(never bashed you

), so we are going to perform with freaking newbie daggers(if we are pracced, haha that was funny with chase earlier

Gah missed some replies while posting.
I got 0 eq from this, I don't need any, I'm perfectly content with 51% abs and a sword.
Think I already tried to explain the circumstances with your defense set, I think it's rightfully earned if someone wants to up their set by all means, you did the same earlier, it's a common thing.
Just go kill chase, it's not hard

Yea, trying to pk in unpracced newbie daggers sucks
I do, however, agree that eq is way too scarce. I know Trin for example was complaining of the exact same thing not very long ago...

And I do have to say though that the set you had, beyond the rings, earrings, and shield, would not be hard to get. I can name of a few soloable mobs off the top of my head which load the same things (better in a few cases).

I don't agree that eq is too scarce. I haven't checked shops, but they should still or need to load sword/spear/dagger...etc whatever else basic at cheap prices.
I do agree however that DS needs some more "mini-smobs" that will load different pieces of eq, can load them on stone road and NE of gk, little things such as trinkets, a mob that loads shields(targes) and other necessities for basic sets.
Cool thing about this round, is you don't see 100% pimp sets 24/7, last round was just absolutely ridiculous.
And basic kits are sooo easily pkable in...grrrr.

You guys are bash abs, try to reeq a dodger who has low con, try to pk in crap dodge, so should we all be cookie cutter characters with 18-19 con? There are soloable smobs that load decent dodge? funny I havent seen these smobs yet, my guess is they are down in ls lands if they do exist.
To reequip an abser just go kill barbarian he loads 30% abs and a decent axe, atm dodgers have it rough period, not to mention dodgers using one handed long blades, the most abundant long blades are beyond worthless.

Alright, had it with you Aj, good day man. Tired of this bullshit of you not even listening to cold reason and words on a damn page.
I have numerous numerous alts, say for the last time.
I have played in the last 2 weeks more on my
low hp(16-17 con) dodgers than on absers, I have reequiped, have done all that shizz. Pked in shit with a wooden practice sword even.
Cookiiiiie Cutterrrrr! yahhhhhhh. I wouldn't say something if I myself haven't tested it, I've tested nearly all stat combinations and tried to pick the best, clearly I think your choice of 16 18 18 was better than 17 18 16.

stabber is far easier to re-equip solo than an abs basher from scratch if have $.
ie. try killing barbarian from naked with an crappy shop axe.
Only reason i re-equiped Dakeyras without $ after you took whole set and didn't even leave me a weapon was because i have multiple characters.
My human stabber is warranted tv cause the easiest re-equip is on innocent mobs + fade mob.
I do agree however there should be more mid line equipment on crappy soloable bandits or things scattered around so that don't have to kill innocent mobs to get it.
