Seems that everything carried in packs appears in your inventory upon logging in after you rent with it, and unfortunately, you're only allowed to carry so many items.

Make sure you don't have too many items in your sacks/packs or else you will wind up losing anything that won't fit in your inventory. I've lost a few daggers/shields/trinks this way.

ummmm i have a couple storage characters and they have a shitload of eq in their packs. yes it all goes in the inv when i get on them but nothing disappears.

I lost a TON of stuff on my last login. Perhaps it was a sack inside a sack or something that ate the eq, but when I logged in, I was missing a load of higher end items.

There is a bug with it though. Grab 50 pieces of meat, put a bunch in one sack, then place that sack inside another sack with more meat.

See how many meats you have when you log back in.

Yes, that is a very old bug, although I don't know if anyone ever reported it. This also happens if you put items in a container and then chest the container: after the reboot, everything in the container gets eaten.

Strangely enough, the eq I was missing wound up on someone else's character.

I have two theories on this: when I rented, the mud knew I had too much eq and made me auto drop it and the other guy picked it up or, something more sinister...

Hmmm my old storage char had a TON of eq in pack and it always went into Inv.

Is it me or does poor Grist always *notice*(edit) these bugs?

Or post about em? I remember over months 4+ incidents where he had rent bugs.

Agree with Vurek. Storage alts = suck.

They keep equipment out of the "loop" so it's harder to get, and thus harder to PK.

As far as that bug goes, it's been around for a long time, nobody really cared enough to make a lot of noise about it.

Except for you weiners with storage alts!
