Excuse me, but is there any reason why dodge is completely useless right now? Every single weapon bashes dodge near 100%. Why is that? I don't think anyone can argue that any simple abser with almost any weapon can take out a well equiped dodger.

If it isn't a 100% full set like Lithium has, it's useless. I don't understand why anything under 105 DB has to be useless, when it isn't easy to get. Why have no midpoint?

actually even 110 db gets bashed 90% of the time.

Lithium still gets bashed by common weapons like those polished silver lances that everyone on LS seems to be running around with. That's through 120+ db.

That isn't very common and not everyone has one. I can name one person.

It's pretty common. It shouldn't be able to bash the best set in the game. Also, the very fact that the best set can be bashed by a common weapon shows how icky the situation is.

Just keep abusing the shit out of the autowimpy thing, you've already done it before. It also seems to be the new trends of dodgey trollocs.

I think it's more a "down bashing % as a whole" rather than specific weapons...

In top end dodge the problem isn't getting bashed more than 1/3, its doing enough damage to stay competitive with the person bashing you. Maybe I've just been using the wrong weapons, I don't know; but the 3 1-handed longblades and 6 daggers that I've used simply don't have the firepower to get a well equipped abser below wounded without mobs.

Use a spear or whatnot, 1 handed weapons won't do as much damage as a two handed weapon. Also growler you over exagerate bashing %.

I haven't seen any decent two-handed spears load up north either. Been working on smithing one, but it might be a while before I get around to finishing it.

should any weapon be innately all around superior to any other weapon? I think not.

Stab timer as it is is extremely long, ob/damage on them sucks so the only way to get off a stab is if your victim is 100% unaware that trollocs are in zone, and stand in one room long enough for a timer more than twice as long as skewer/charge to go off.

the thing 1handed lblades have over daggers is the fact that they bash and have a bit better damage. Albeit the bash on them sucks.

As it is I believe the spear/lance class is extremely overpowered in the fact that not only can they bash rather hard to get sets, but they have insane damage(yeah, they do, fragging through abs) and they have nice ob and parry. On top of all of that they can skewer and charge.

If daggers are going to be so severely limited in the ob/damage area and have the stab timers so extremely long, then so does also the spear/lance class need to be heavily downed.

I think that overall there is a severe problem with most of the weapons/eq setups around. Either they are overpowered, or cannot compete. To say that one should simply "change their eq/weapons setup" to be competitive is flawed. As a rogue I should not have to use any weapon but a dagger. But I have already repracticed, as has lithium to be competitive.

This is a problem guys, whether you wish to acknowledge it or not. To deny it simply because you benefit from it only hurts the game.

In my experience, having played with kits ranging from 100 db to 111 db, and with the exception of a rather crazy string of 3 or 4 dodged bashes from Jack in a spammable recently, I've dodged maybe 3 bashes since I've been back. All other times I get sat down, usually by a lance.

let's see..charge vs. stab

pros for stab.
can be used with sneak. is a sneak attack. if people don't know you're there can be used to great effect.
can start a timer on an engaged person for more effective flee stabs.
can continue timer if someone else attacks them.

pros. for charge

a short timer

cons for stab.
can be very difficult to get off on someone that knows you are there and knows what they are doing.
must be dismounted(if human)

cons for charge
has to be used in conjuction with a horse(if human)
is very difficult to get off on someone that knows what they are doing.(doesn't even have to know you are there)

Stab has more advantages than charge. the only reason i use a lance is because it's a good melee defensive weapon. and i think some of this has to do with bmi and the fact that i was lucky a few times bashing lithium. i landed 2 in a row. and than missed 5.

Dodge - Not the greatest thing in the world. I'm using a mixture of absorb and Dodge now.

Grolm stuff is good! Wolfhide is good for a semiheavy dodger and honestly, in the name of Jack Bauer, get some high parry rings and necklaces and bracelets and maybe earrings instead of the dodge ones because they sure help when you get bashed to avoid some hits.

Make SURE to get absorb on the shoulders and waist because they help when you get hit there big time and you can just as easily get the parry and dodge from OTHER items

Lamgwin, I'd like to see you play a set of 100-105 DB and not get eaten up vs almost any weapon.

I don't think you get what annoys me. It's that you smob for quite a while, get some good eq, only to get eaten up by a weapon that you can get easily. What's the logic in that? My point is, that anything non 100% topend gets his ass kicked. Anyone who plays dodge knows this.

Maybe I can't count. When'd you get back Nicotine? This is only one of the bouts we had over the couple hours of pk.

I'm glad to see that people still work hard to get the facts straight; who was saying getting bashed 100%? Lousy, and full of garbage. Don't torture your imms by giving them information that is just beyond worthless.

There's definately something wrong when I'm seeing these combo/spears kids bashing dodge the same way I am in abs with a bashing weapon, and that definately needs to be looked at.

I'm also very displeased with all these combat bonus trinks/idols. But, oh well, so it goes.

i don't like these damage trinkets. they are really stupid and pointless because abs is already good enough.

if you had went zerk gerard. you would have killed him.

I didn't go zerk because I was fighting 2-3 more in addition to him a few ticks earlier. And I really doubt I would have, I tried to lower ob as much as I could. As he says he's only dodged 3 bashes, he had been dodging alot more bashes than that.

Shrug, Smasher, I'd like to talk to you sometime about these "dmg trinks" and how/why you like them. I think they are totally awful, and completely detrimental to pk. Message me sometime, I'd like to talk to you on msn or something. :p
