That just happened to us again today. Four of us were out SMOBBING when the game suddenly crashed. We came back with Cifon and Cautet in Murandy, myself in the Mines near Baerlon, and Darwin in Caemlyn. A lot of gear was lost on the mercenary mob I was leading around.

An ill-kempt woman is using:
<worn around neck> a necklace with an opal pendant
<worn around neck> a necklace with an opal pendant
<worn in right ear> a flawless crystal earring
<worn in left ear> a sparkling ruby earring
<worn on head> a rock colored shoufa
<worn about body> a plain brown cloak
<worn on body> a worn animal hide vest
<worn on arms> a pair of light leather sleeves
<worn about waist> a rough steel belt with an ornate buckle
<worn around wrist> a dark silver cuff
<worn around wrist> a simple silver wristband
<worn on hands> a pair of thin leather gloves
<worn on finger> an emerald signet ring
<worn on finger> a simple silver circlet
<wielded> a gold and jade hilted sword
<worn as shield> a tall metal tower shield
<worn on legs> a pair of blue wool leggings
<worn on feet> a pair of ranger boots

Not to mention the gear Growler left on the ground after PK that got eaten. Or any of the gear we picked up after we saved. That sort've stuff is our own fault for not saving, but if the merc mobs are going to display that message (which does interrupt their personal bash timers) it'd be nice if it actually worked and saved over crash/reboot.

It would be nice, but until I get around to figuring out how to make it non-abusable it wont happen, I can make the message invisible if that will help. Since I dont currently have a MUD client on this comp, and Im not about to do it through telnet Ill have to do this tomorrow maybe.

Hrm, good to know it interupts commands for them, Ill have to get Galnor to look at changing that. Thanks.

I assume you're referring to someone using the mercs to dupe equipment. I thought that the few players known for that were recently banned from the MUD/quit on their own. Besides, with such a small playerbase, that could be taken care of on a case-by-case basis. As it is, no one wants to use mercs for fear of losing any decent equipment they put on them.

Possible options are global forced saves every X amount of tics. I'm not sure. Just an idea that might help prevent it.

Anyhow, thanks for at least removing the message. :)

I have removed the message, if it still interupts MOB action post back so I know its something else. And as to the punishing duped eq from the mobs, I dont want to give anyone the temptation.

Alright guys! I spent some time today and worked my way to what I believe is a system that should not be abusable, so you can actually get your eq back after a crash. I do not claim to be perfect so in all likelyhood there is someway to get it back without losing it in the first place. In this case I do not want to have to zap you take all your eq ban you etc, for abusing a bug. PLEASE report anything you do not think it is intended to do(perferably through PM so others dont take the opportunity). Enjoy!

Just another note, it only saves eq that they are wearing. Anything in their inventories is not accounted for, nor can it be.

One bug found and fixed. Please keep me posted if you think you have found one.
