Re: Trin's last comments:
1. I agree that there are too many nochan rooms. Way way way too many. Theres nochannel areas like steddings near most pk zones, why have nochanel rooms in every zone as well? Would much prefer that people can choose to run to a nochannel area 1 zone away as a tactic rather than spamming 2 rooms to a nochan area to remove another classes ability.
2. Channie hps are not that bad. Wounded to dead eating a bash vs 2 is a feature of dodge or light combo rather than poor channie hps (i'm assuming he's dodge but even in combo it's perfectly feasable). I've had healthy to crit/dead after eating a bash on my thief v a channie and a basher. (i'm glad fogel looking into extra weave damage vs bashed to double check that)
3. Channies in a 1v1 vs a basher is a fair fight - with 2v2 they have no faceoff limtations on weaves so channies have an advtanage. In 4v4 the channies have major advantage.

This I think is a big part of the problem. What would everyone think if I made it so channelers could only weave on people engaged on them?

Fogel, by engaged do you mean they are trying to hit you, or you are trying to hit them? If so, I would go for that. As is, a channeler can be fighting person X, while person Y is standing off to the side, not even fighting, and said channeler can weave on person Y while currently engaged on person X.

Let them weave on anyone. If you really want to go into that though, just make it so only a max of 2 can weave on one person, if thats possible..

Alder: basically, I mean change the targeting to work like bash's does. Note that this is just me throwing out ideas, I currently have no intention of actually doing this.

Considering the small number of zones you including in that list of nochan rooms, that's too many in my view. At least one per zone.

Also keep in mind stedding is a good ten to fifteen rooms, with friendly mob support for humans.

I'm going to post something that was suggested on wotmud but how about less damage on players you're not engaged to? This will keep the feature while making it not so powerful for multiple channies to single target an individual.

I think thats a pretty decent solution Trin.
Perhaps another solution would to be to give a "You miss your target as they battle Xxx!" as an addition to the chance to fail. Since they are fighting someone, similar to when you land a charge timer on an engaged and "You might hit the wrong target!" but there is still a chance to land it, just a bit lower than on a target that isn't engaged/engaged on you.

blark, what does any of that have to do with channelers?
i say channies should stay how they are now, but add self regen back, let the white tower hunt male channelers, and everyone else do the same, so there are infact, less channelers willing to jump into PK and weave, so in reality, they are less powerful, because they dont want to be caught proving their MC's, which is 80% of the channelers.
Add some form of taint, perhaps just a message saying theyve been tainted a small amount, to a medium amount depending on the weave they cast.
Add mc hunting, and we're down ALOT of the channies, add Wilder hunting, and we force them to have a bit of rp, by clanning into the white power, and taking up an aes sedai role.
Implement tainting.

And that helps the situation how? It just hurts ls channelers.. Theres a whole other side to this.

DS have more pking channelers active so it'd really hurt the losing side(ls).
Blark: Maybe you misunderstood what I mean by engaged. When I say engaged I mean someone that is EITHER fighting you! in the room or you are fighting in the room. I mean if it's Jaina and I on Evilina and Blark and Jaina is attacking Blark and I'm attacking Evilina I would have a lower damage if I were to air scythe Blark. None of those weapons attack anyone you're not engaged to.
I'd rather like to know the real reason(besides RP which is kind of poor, no offense, on this mud unless coming from Trys) why so many DS want to weaken humans so much. There are maybe 2 active MC's that play at my times that I'm aware of.
If all these things to hurt LS come in: Taint, MC hunting, No pk for accepted/novices, the best pk weaves only accessable to clanned, We should make all channelers on DS reroll to some other class, get to rank 7 in a clan where they can then get rid of master to make a channeler at rank 1 in Dreadguards.

I am curious as to why there are channelers on the side of Shadowspawn.

dreadguards = channelers...

With the recent addition of elements and weaves, and the lowering of damage on weaves with shorter timers, I would be so bold as to say channelers don't need any more changes and would remain pretty balanced, save for imping taint, which would lower the amount of channelers.

I agree with koradin, and imping the taint for raise the amount of rp and the amount of tar valon witches, which i think remains at two
so, mc's will either have to be more careful about channeling, pretend to be another class, or make a FC.
either way, RP involved( i like ), and it improves the white tower
they should get a gold for ever MC scalp they get btw

After experiencing some pk on my channeler today, I'd say channelers are pretty useless against anyone 1v1 except maybe another channeler, seeing as dodge in general is pretty useless.
Channelers would definitely tip the scales in a group fight, but trying to pk on one by yourself or with small numbers isn't a great idea, and people will realize it

channies really are almost useless 1v1 unless you manage to get a stab because they are afk or not paying attention, or bash them and channel high power weaves on them while their stunned.
1v1 channies have no chance most of the time
