I think the problem well if you want to call it a problem .. Is that there are just too many variations of equipment. How many different types of necklaces/rings/wristbands. It's near impossible to try and get a load out because they have so many variations they can load. I haven't seen any shimmering gear on knight but gaunts.. And i've killed him at least 15 times since i've been back. Scout load seems to have changed at least it has to me in the past 3 or 4 days. keeps loading some iron hammer. Anyways I just think if we could narrow it down. Have one smob load XXX items another load a different set of XXX and go from there. And possibly cut out a few of the items altogether.. just my opinion and to show what i mean here is a list of the different trinkets i've gotten today..

<worn around neck> a medallion of shiny silver
<worn around neck> a necklace of precious emeralds
<worn in right ear> a sparkling ruby earring
<worn in left ear> a ruby earring in the shape of a heart
<worn around neck> a thick bronzed medallion
<worn around neck> a black cord with a raven pendant
<worn around neck> a necklace of heavy gold links
<worn in right ear> a thick earring made of gold
worn around wrist> a silver bracelet
<worn around wrist> a green dangling circlet
<worn on finger> a gold ring
<worn around wrist> a smooth silver bracelet
<worn on finger> a smooth metal band
<worn on finger> a glistening steel ring
<worn around wrist> a wide blue wristband
<worn on finger> a black ring
<worn in right ear> a green-jeweled earring
<worn in left ear> a shining silver earring
a delicate gold chain
A terrified woman drops a medallion of shiny silver.
A terrified woman drops a simple silver band.
A terrified woman drops a shining silver earring.
A terrified woman drops a swordsman's belt.
A terrified woman drops a delicate sungwood earring.
A terrified woman drops a necklace with an opal pendant.
A terrified woman drops a necklace of precious emeralds.
terrified woman drops a small golden chain.
A terrified woman drops a small golden chain.
A terrified woman drops a simple silver band.

And I am pretty sure there are a ton more items.. these are just the ones i have gotten

The problem isn't with the loads as I see it, rather it is with the enormous amount of equipment in the game that has identical or near identical stats.

For example why do we have 3-4 different types of 2db 1pb rings, necklaces and wristwear and earrings? Why are there also 3-5 different types of 1 db or 1pb trinkets? Why are there so many sets of sleeves/coverings that have identical stats? The same goes with capes/cloaks, leggings, tunics/shirts.

While I like diversity, there is no need to have so many different types of worthless trinkets. Instead of having 5-6 1db or 1pb trinkets, narrow it down to 2. Cut out some of this equipment that I believe is making it more difficult to force pop better eq.

I'm not asking to be able to get a full super set in just a few hours, but I am asking that perhaps these things be looked at.

That imo is quite silly to make us go into as you say "enemy territory" For one reason. It's a completely weighted argument as to who has it easier to get away. Humans have FD TV Caem WB Luggy Aringill FM Baerlon to run to. Even from up noth they can go to ogiers to regen moves. Two horses will take a human from Gap to FM nearly to TV if stacked right. A troll cannot make it anywhere from Andor/Luggy/Or even farther west like Baerlon. Just seems totally out of whack.

I do understand your trying to make things right. Just think about it from that point of view ESPESCIALLY as a smob group it makes trolls much more vulnerable. North smobs don't load any great items for humans to worry about coming north when nearly the same items load on southern smobs. Yet trolls don't have that same luxury yes we do have some nice loads and good items but some of these are not nearly a necessity for a good kit as are items like shimmering abs and such.

lol Smasher. I know it's rough. I used to be an imm on here way back in charge of all the equipment/weapons/mobs. It was a pain in the butt.

I'll take a more detailed look at each piece of equipment and trinkets and give some more insightful input on it to try and help out. I do think though that there are too many different varieties at the moment.

Hehe. Yeah same here with being an imm at one time in this weird twisted mud. I'll try and figure out something and give you some input when I can. I don't want you to change horse loads that is not what i am saying I know they are scarce on their normal load it's just the bought horses that I was mentioning. I'll post on another forum since Lith and I killed at least 63 horses from south gap to mid blight in one go :P..

seems like there should be a coupla more shield/dagger loads...i've only found 2 worth hitting(and ow they hurt), what happened to the good shields and daggers...now best i can find is gold/silver dagger, and tall metal tower shield or light animal hide...wtf?

Tall metal tower shield I think its what used to be called Gold Shield (but with reduced stats)

Other one is I think old silver shield (but with reduced stats)

Smobbing on here is not worth it unless you have the patience of a saint as the % loads are very very small and also the difference between average eq and good eq is too large. Only mobs that consistently load good eq are city mobs and the there is no way to get the numbers to hit them.

Is a shame, I think that the changing of eq and the loads reduced the numbers of people playing. The core of players have great eq, know the zones well, and the little tricks and tactics - but for anyone else coming on and playing it isn't so fun for them, and so you get a lack of players once wotmud comes back up.

Its basically impossible for a new player to come onto this game and get decent equipment without help from someone else. Equipment loads have been terrible for a long time though, and no one has attempted to fix it, so I don't expect anything to change soon.
